"The Victors Vision" Oct. 13, 2024
Online Edition!
From the Desk of Principal Lake
Victors,
We are now in the 8th week of school! Dr. Montgomery and I continue to monitor both grades and attendance closely, and we will be reaching out to families whose students are at risk of falling short of the Virtual School's academic and attendance standards. Remember to attend school every day and always give your best effort!
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, we’ll announce the Top 3 Grades that have won this month’s Attendance Challenge! The winning classes will be invited to a Pizza Party at the Virtual School on Thursday, October 17, 2024. We’re excited to celebrate their dedication and hard work.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, we will host Parent/Teacher Conferences for grades 3-8 from 1 pm to 5 pm. Students in grades 3-8 will have a half-day of school. Please refer to the abbreviated schedule below and plan to meet with your child's teachers. 3-8 parents, you can schedule your conferences using this Microsoft Bookings link: 3rd-8th Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Also on Wednesday, we’re asking all students, parents, and staff to wear orange in celebration of Unity Day. Unity Day is an important event during National Bullying Prevention Month, symbolizing our commitment to kindness, inclusion, and standing up against bullying. Show your support by wearing orange!
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, 5th grade students will visit the Henry Ford Museum, and 12th grade students will take a college tour at Wayne State University. We will also have the Attendance Challenge Pizza Party from 12 pm to 2 pm. Remember to bring your district-provided laptop for the pizza party.
Looking ahead, don’t forget about our upcoming events: Oktoberfest and Virtual School Picture Day (details in the flyer below)!
Let’s make this another fantastic week! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dr. Montgomery or me.
Go Victors!

Unity Day!
Unity Day is Wednesday, October 16, 2024! Let’s show our commitment to kindness, acceptance, and inclusion by wearing and sharing the color orange.
Started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, Unity Day has become a key event during National Bullying Prevention Month. Each year, it grows as a symbol of our collective effort to promote kindness and inclusion and take a stand against bullying. You can support this event by joining the movement—just wear and share orange!
The aim of Unity Day is to unite students, parents, educators, businesses, and communities across the country to send a clear message: bullying is never acceptable, and every student deserves a safe environment in school, online, and in their community.
