“It is our vision as Daughters of Charity schools that our students become people of service who see the face of God in everyone, committed to living their Vincentian Catholic values.”

Pope Francis has proclaimed 2025 as a Jubilee Year, a special time of grace and pilgrimage in the Catholic Church. This Jubilee, themed "Hope Does Not Disappoint," invites all of us to renew our faith and bring hope to our communities. Throughout this year, Pope Francis encourages us to be "messengers of hope" by saying "yes" to life and making choices that bring light and love to those around us.

As we reflect on this call for hope, we are acutely aware of the challenges our community is facing, particularly with the devastating fires currently affecting Los Angeles. These fires have caused immense damage, loss, and disruption to many lives. In these trying times, the message of hope becomes even more significant. It is a reminder that even in the face of adversity, we can find strength and resilience.

We sincerely appreciate your flexibility last week and your ongoing trust in us. We will continue to adopt a day-to-day approach for making decisions regarding outdoor activities, closely monitoring the weather and air quality conditions. To ensure the safety of our water fountains, we have ordered new filters and a water quality testing kit. We look forward to utilizing these resources soon; in the meantime, we kindly ask that you continue to send your child with a water bottle each day. A special thank you to all the parents who have generously donated cases of water.

Let us approach this Jubilee Year with open hearts and minds, serving as beacons of hope for one another and for our city.

God Bless,

Mrs. Arvizu-Sotelo

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ-

We continue to experience delays at carline, we need your help to keep each other and most importantly our students safe. Please share this information with anyone dropping off or picking up your children.

  • Use the crosswalk
  • Follow Carline Procedures- Do not cut in line or enter via Broadway when cars are lined up on Main Street.
  • Exit the alley towards Broadway, this helps us speed up carline. Exit to the right slows everyone down, the streetlight on Main is too slow and cars waiting end up blocking the alley exit.
  • If your child is in a car seat and requires assistance exiting your vehicle, we kindly ask that you park your car and accompany your child to the parent gate. This is particularly important during the busy times, such as around 7:20-7:40 AM, as many students are exiting their vehicles in the alley to avoid tardiness. Your cooperation will help us ensure the safety of our students and maintain an efficient car line. Thank you for your understanding and support.
