We are so proud of our students for presenting and making these important statements!

CHELSEA HIGH SCHOOL UPDATES
Special Donation to the Young Parenting Program!
Chelsea High School senior, Rosalia Hernandez, donated handmade infant hats to the Young Parenting Program, which is located at Chelsea High School. She made over 50 baby hats and brought them in this week This is part of a senior project for National Honors Society. We are so proud of all of our Seniors!
The Young Parenting Program supports parenting and pregnant students by connecting them with essential resources, offering guidance, and helping them navigate challenges related to parenting, education, childcare, and personal development. The program also works with non-parenting students by providing prevention education and collaborating with outside agencies to facilitate workshops and presentations.
MGH Blood Drive
On Friday May 9th, Chelsea High School hosted the MGH Bloodmobile for our annual blood drive. The blood drive was organized by National Honor Society student Alanna Taylor in conjunction with the MGH school-based health center at Chelsea High.
The day started with 55 appointments on the schedule. There were 46 people that went to the bus, 5 were temporarily deferred, and 41 people gave blood successfully. 29 of those people were giving blood with MGH for the first time!
The donated blood goes through testing, typing and preparing for transfusion. MGH hospital has seen a great increase in liver transplant surgeries. These historically use quite a bit of blood. In just the first few months of this increase, the need for blood more than doubled!! MGH also has a busy sickle cell clinic whose patients depend on red blood cells, sometimes getting transfusions monthly.
Everyday there are people in the hospital whose lives depend on good, generous people like those at Chelsea High School. Everyone who signed up to donate should be very proud of their participation.
With each donation going to help 3 patients, the CHS blood drive has given a chance at life to over 100 patients!
Congressional Art Competition Winner
CHS Senior, Nat Hem, has won the prestigious 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Massachusetts District 7! The Congressional Art Competition is a nation-wide contest. Winning works will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol Building.
