The Journey Continues
Greetings Hesse Families,
We had a great first week back. Everyone returned refreshed and ready to tackle the last semester of the year! In case you missed it, report cards are now available through the parent access portal/PowerSchool.
Please be aware that we have a new sign-in system at the front office. We will use this new system to record tardies in the mornings as well as for visitors entering the building. Please be patient as we work towards being more efficient. The system is installed and will be utilized beginning Monday morning.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!
The winter spirit store is open! The store will remain open until January 26th.
Please use the link below to place your order. Items will be delivered to the school and then delivered to students to bring home.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the PTA!
All Kindergarten-8th grade students will receive safety lessons when we return from Winter break. The lessons will begin January 13th and end January 22nd. Kindergarten-5th lessons are 30-45 minutes over four days, and 6th-8th lessons are one hour over two days. We are partnering with Mary's Place to deliver these important safety lessons to our students. Their presenters are trained in the Child and Teen Safety Matters curriculum. Opt-out forms were sent home on December 4th (paper copies with K-5th; email to 6th-8th). If you do not want your child to participate in the safety lessons, please return the opt-out form to your child's teacher. Opt-out forms are due back by December 20, 2024.

Hesse K8 Uniforms
With the understanding that student behavior is influenced by the way students are dressed and that no student should dress in a manner that is disruptive or has an adverse effect on school activities, the following mandatory uniform standards have been developed. Students are expected to dress in the school uniform during the school day, on field trips, and during school-related activities. Hesse K-8 uniform colors are as follows: hunter green or white uniform shirts; khaki or navy uniform bottoms. Please refer to the SCCPSS Code of Conduct for full details regarding uniform guidelines/expectations.
Additionally, the Dri-FIT shirts sold by our PTA will be accepted as a uniform top. Please contact our PTA for more information.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Students will be assigned a security number and security tags will be given to each family to use during pick-up. Anyone who is picking up a student from campus will need to have the security tag or report to the office with identification.
Please be patient during carpool! The first week or two, the carpool line moves slowly until the students learn the new routine.
