News & Events at Freedom MS - Week of February 16th.
Welcome / Bienvenidos
Freedom Families,
This past week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from both FMS and HMS as they showcased their incredible work in our Science Showcase! It was inspiring to see the creativity and dedication our students put into their projects. Congratulations to our winning 8th-grade groups, who received tickets to Great America for their outstanding work!
As we approach mid-February, we are beginning preparations for IAR testing. Please remember that all students will need USB-C headphones for testing. Ensuring they have these ready will help create a smooth testing experience.
Also, a quick reminder that there is no school on Monday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday!
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a great week!

Social Justice
This week in Ms. Durczak's and Ms. Belkov's World Cultures and Social Justice classes at both Freedom and Heritage, at least 300 valentines were made by their students to give to detained migrant children. The children received the cards last Saturday, accompanied by adults presenting them and singing songs in their honor. Big thanks to both Ms. Belkov and Ms. Durczak's 6-8th grade classes; they did a great job in letting detained children know that they are loved!
Student of The Month December/January
6th Grade-Jasmine Salazar
Jasmine displays a positive attitude when participating in class and she is a role model for her peers. She is always willing to help a classmate learn a new skill during class. Jasmine also displays determination and persistance when completing her own assignments. She is comfortable asking questions and she learns from her mistakes. Jasmine gets along with all of her classmates and she has proven to be a leader while working in groups or participating during class discussions.
7th Grade-Nubia Robles Zamora
Nubia has been a rock star since day 1 in our math class. She consistently participates in whole class discussions along with collaborating with her shoulder partner. The standard that she holds herself to, is one to be marveled at. Nubia continues to challenge herself to learn something new every class, and apply it, along with doing work outside of class to accelerate her skills. It's an honor to teach a young woman who takes such pride in her work, creates beautiful projects, and wants best for her classmates.
8th-Codie Barretto
When I think of what I would want in a student, Codie is one of the first people that comes to mind. He always works hard, always participates, and is always genuinely curious. He is willing to help his peers when they are struggling and stays positive even when he is challenged. Codie comes to school each day with a positive attitude and spreads a joy for learning wherever he goes. Codie is a great example of what it means to be a positive community member, I am so proud of his growth this year.
