About the Music Program and Performance Times
Your student's music program has been scheduled! It will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 6:30 pm. We will also have two day-time performances for the students.
Our program is called "Fall Festival." It is a program that showcases the many activities that take place in the fall season. It will include singing, playing instruments, and even dancing!
This program is for ALL 5th Grade students. It will be their only opportunity for performance this school year. If you know your student will not be at either the day-time performances or the evening performance, please let me know as soon as possible (TMartin@usd207.org).
**Veterans Day is a holiday we hold special and dear to our hearts. Because of the unique nature of our students, we would like to honor our Veterans. Please send in a photo of their loved ones to be displayed during one of our songs. Use the Google form to attach your photo. (Please, only one photo per student).
On the evening of the program, students will need to be back at school between 6:15-6:20 p.m. and meet in their classrooms. Please have them give you any coats or jackets as they will not return to their classrooms.
Speaking Lines
Students will have the opportunity to volunteer for speaking lines. If students want a speaking line, they will receive one, likewise, if they do not want a speaking line, they will not receive one. Scripts will be passed out during music class. A copy of the script has been added to this website for your reference, but students have not been assigned yet. All lines will be need to be memorized (but I will be in front of the students if any of them forget!)
Costumes
Costumes will depend on your student's role in the music program. Costumes will be discussed during music class and will need to be provided by the parents. Most costumes will be "picture day best" unless your student has a special part.
Popcorn Party!
The week following our program, we will be having a popcorn party in the music room and watch our performance on the SmartBoard. This is a great opportunity to reflect on our performance. If your student cannot have popcorn, please have them bring in a snack to enjoy while we watch our performance.
Practice the Songs!
