August Meet & Greet and Campus Tour
10:00am-12:00pm
Instructors encouraged to arrive at 9:30am
This is an informal event for parents to get acclimated with the campuses and to meet the instructors. Instructors will be stationed inside their assigned classroom and room numbers will be posted on the classroom doors. Please check your Instructor Portal for your assigned classroom number.
Fountain Valley: Wednesday, August 28th
Riverside: Thursday, August 29th
Capo Beach: Friday, August 30th
Live-Online Instructors are invited to participate in any of the in-person locations
Instructor Welcome Letter or Video
If you haven't done so already, please consider writing a Welcome Letter and/or uploading a Welcome Video inside the Instructor Portal. This is a great way to stay engaged with those who are on your rosters and parents appreciate hearing from their instructors.
- Login to your Instructor Portal
- Select the Fall 2024 term
- Click on "View/Edit Class Details" for each of your classes
- Scroll to the "Welcome Letter" and "Welcome Video" fields and upload your fileYour video will display inside the Student Portal
Sample Welcome Letters are located in your Instructor Portal under "Support Documents".
Instructor Zoom Orientation Meetings
We're working on building a shared "Instructor Zoom Orientation" sign-up calendar that will be available for instructors in the near future. In the meantime, you may want to reach out to your families and schedule a Zoom Orientation(s) or your families.
This is an excellent and convenient way to present your expectations and hopes for the upcoming school year. It's also a great way to connect with your families and get them excited about your classes and motivate them to share your information with their friends.

Payment Method Details
- Login to your Instructor Portal
- Click on the link: 'View and Edit Instructor Profile'
- Scroll to the 'Payment Method Details' textbox
- Follow the instructions that are in red text
Check Your Emails and Voice Messages
Reminder to check your emails daily and to keep your voicemail inbox clear.
We don't want parents to hear, "This mailbox is full and cannot accept any messages."

Duplicate Enrollment on Rosters
Parents may inadvertently enroll the same student twice in the same class. Check your rosters weekly to let us know if you are seeing this happen:
- Click the "Request to Unenroll" check box next to the duplicate student
- Click on the "Update" button at the bottom of the page to save your entry
- HSC Admin will unenroll the duplicate student
Collecting Tuition from Parents
Collecting Tuition from Parents
Please reach out to your parents regarding receiving payment.
- Charter Funds: Instruct your families to click on the link that reads, "Class Details/ Payment Information" inside their student portal for all of your payment details. This information will be helpful when requesting a P.O. from their charter school.
- Private Pay: Instructors can collect payment upon student enrollment. The HSC website states: "To secure enrollment, instructors require either a non-refundable $50 deposit or full payment per class within 24 hours of enrolling for each semester."
- When parents do not respond: Inform them that they risk having their student dropped from your class to make room for another student (this is at the discretion of the instructor).
