May A+ Award: Matt Robb, Fischer Middle School
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) and District 204 proudly honor Matt Robb, an 8th grade teacher at Fischer Middle School, with the May A+ Award. Watch the A+ Award video to see the team’s surprise visit to recognize Mr. Robb for “Making a Difference”.
Mr. Robb was nominated for the A+ Award this year by two current Fischer parents: Sandra Joaquin and Angela DeLeo. Mr. Robb has taught two of Mrs. Joaquin’s children, and in her essay, she describes him as a caring, patient, supportive, and understanding teacher. Mrs. DeLeo added that Mr. Robb has been “such a supportive, positive influential teacher in her daughter’s life.” She writes that he exemplifies patience, positivity, and consideration, and that she is grateful for the encouragement and guidance that he has given to her daughter this year.
This is Mr. Robb’s twenty-first year working in District 204. Before coming to Fischer in 2008, Mr. Robb taught for five years at Scullen Middle School. After winning the A+ Award, Mr. Robb said that he felt that one of the most important ways that he makes a difference is by building relationships in the classroom. “I like being able to watch my students grow as students and as people,” he said.
IPEF is proud to sponsor the A+ Award in its 10th year. You can nominate a staff member by visiting A+ Award.
