Valentine's Day Expectations for Student Valentine's

In keeping with current practices designed to protect the health and safety of all children, elementary students in Loudoun County Public Schools are not permitted to distribute candy or other food items to classmates. As Valentine’s Day approaches, it is important for parents to understand that candy brought to school by students, including candy attached to Valentine’s Day cards, will be returned to the parent. Children are permitted to share Valentine's Day cards with each other, but they cannot give out candy.

It is almost time to register your new LCPS student for the 2025/26 school year!

The online pre-registration portal for kindergartners and students new to LCPS will open on Monday, Jan. 6. Current LCPS students do not need to complete this process. The LCPS student registration process involves two steps: online pre-registration and in-person registration appointments. The online pre-registration process includes determining your student’s home school, gathering the documents required for registration and uploading them to the pre-registration portal. Once pre-registration is complete, your student’s school will contact you to schedule a registration appointment to be held after Feb. 3, 2025. Paper registration forms are also available at your student’s home school, or you may download them from the LCPS website. If you have questions, please contact your student’s home school or LCPS Student Registration at RegistrationServices@lcps.org. See more information about Student Registration on the LCPS website.

Lab Talk: A Legacy Labrador Podcast is back!

We have NEW Lab Talk podcast episodes to share with you! This week, we welcomed 13 high school students from Independence High School for Computer Science Education Week. In this episode, Mr. McIntosh sat down with our guests to discuss the new machine learning lessons they were able to teach to teach to a variety of our K-5 students. Our high school volunteers provide some great insight into the benefits of Computer Science, along with the positive effects of the courses they are taking. They even discuss the many Computer Science course options for students as they get into middle and high school. Thanks for listening!

Below please see the sign up genius for our PAWS dates for the first semester. Come in for a half a day 7am -11:30 with the option of staying through lunch. We hope that each family has an opportunity to come to school with their child to experience Legacy! Parents may only sign up one time per each semester in order to allow others the opportunity to volunteer.
