We hope you enjoyed your short week! We have really appreciated the opportunity to connect with students and families today and yesterday during Conferences. These meaningful conversations to both celebrate student achievement and partner on next steps are so powerful.

We are also in the midst of cheering on our state-qualifying wrestlers: Abbie Reeves, Kara Donegan, and Wesley Reeves! They began competing yesterday, and will continue today and tomorrow! Tonight is also Senior Night for our Basketball teams and Winter Cheerleading–good luck to all of our athletes! Go Stangs!

Also, thank you so much for the celebrations around my acceptance of the MSHS Principal position for next school year. I am really excited for this opportunity, and humbled to continue to work in partnership with each of you.

We are so appreciative of our Parent Action Committee for putting together an amazing staff breakfast during parent/teacher conferences. The staff enjoyed a morning treat!

Spanish Club hosted the annual Valentine's Photo Booth during Monday, February 13th, and Tuesday, February 14th. All the proceeds raised will go towards the sponsorship of Moris, through the Unbound Organization.

Students also worked together to learn to make delicious tamales! The tamales were enjoyed by their classmates and teachers.

Congratulations to the Knowledge Bowl Team. They are going to the state competition!

We are so proud of you...go get 'em Mustangs!

UPDATE: State Wrestling

Abbie -- Won 1st Round and Quarter-Final. Will wrestle in the Semi-Final this evening [630pm].

Kara -- Lost 1st Round, Won Consolation Round 1. Can wrestle-back for 3rd place this evening [430pm].

Wesley -- Won 1st Round & Quarter-Final. Will wrestle again in the Semi-Final this evening [630pm].

VALENTINE'S DAY LUNCHEON: What a fun Valentine's Day afternoon! Junior Key Club members at Manitou Springs Middle School hosted a Valentine's Day luncheon for Seniors. -- Manitou Springs High School Key Club members assisted the Jr. Key Club. They played bingo and had a tasty lunch!

Congratulations to Annie Riggin who participated in the Colorado All-State Honor Choir this past weekend! Annie was in a choir made up of 240 singers that performed to a sold out Buell Theatre in Denver that seats 2800 people!

Congratulations to Rebecca, Beckett, Bowman, Jesse, Kailtyn, James, and Jason for participating in the CSU Pueblo Festival of Winds this past weekend. We had Mustang representation in each of the 4 bands at the festival. Not only was the performance amazing, they represented Manitou and MSSD14 well. They learned much and were able to bring things back to our classes to help the overall ensemble improve.

The Prospector article of the week: Annie Riggin selected for Colorado All-State Honor Choir by Meghan Taylor

Student Council hosted 2 Wish Weeks, from 2/06th to 2/17th, in the effort to fundraise money to support the Make A Wish Foundation-Colorado. The main focus was to reflect the MSHS culture, strengthening the fellowship within the student body, while doing activities that would help raise funds to sponsor Asher and kids like him. Hallways were decorated with movie themes that Asher likes, and we even had teachers volunteer to get pied in the face, all of it for a good cause. The Student Council wants to thank everyone that was involved and that supported them throughout these past two weeks, you are amazing!

Dante is our very popular school bunny! This week he wore his K-9 vest. Thank you to all of the students that give Dante so much love and care. Thank you to Dante for being an honorary Mustang!
