CIS Weekly Updates
2024-2025: #1 August 26 - 30, 2024
#16: December 9-13, 2024
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
On Friday, we had the opportunity to watch our WHS Show Choir's Rhythm in Red perform. Rhythm in Red is the highest level of choir at Wadsworth High School. Students have the opportunity to try out starting when they are sophomores. Students who enjoy choir are encouraged to continue advancing their skills throughout middle school and high school.
Our students have done a great job earning bear paws these past few weeks! Our next goal is to earn a winter festival on the last day of school before winter break. Students are less than 1,000 bear paws from earning this opportunity (6,000 bear paws). This event would incorporate games and possibly food. We will need parent volunteers. I will send out a sign-up later this week.
As I mentioned last week, student attendance is essential at CIS. Did you know that absenteeism influences not just chances for graduating but also for completing college? A new analysis of Rhode Island data found that only 11 percent of the chronically absent students who graduated from high school made it to a second year of college, compared to 51 percent of students with better high school attendance records. For more information regarding chronic absenteeism, please check out attendanceworks.org.
Our lost and found continues to grow and there are some nice items that students left behind. Please watch these videos to see the items we have at the school. If you see an item that is yours, please talk to your student about getting it from the lost and found when they are at school.
Have a GREAT Week!
Brandon Cobb, Principal

5TH AND 6TH GRADE CHOIR CONCERTS - TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!
We hope that you all are as excited as we are to hear our CIS Holiday Choir Concerts! Students have been working very hard and we are excited to perform for a live audience. Here is a little information to help with specifics for our concert evening. All this information is also being sent home on paper with your child and will be sent in the choir remind groups as well.
5th Grade CIS CHOIR Concert Reminder

We will be asking students and families to exit immediately following the concert at approximately 7:00 pm. Your child might come home with a “tag” as a reminder if they want to talk to you about donating. We will collect these items in the atrium between Tuesday, December 3rd and Monday, December 16th.
