September Family Messenger
2024
Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
House Sorting and House Meetings
Our House sorting Friday was AMAZING!! All students chose a new House and we celebrated by learning the House chant and hand sign. More information will be shared each month as students participate in service learning, bonding, and competitions. Please have your child wear their House color this Friday, 9/6. It will be our first ever House Breakfast and Lunch day! Students can eat breakfast sitting at their House table and also during lunch. We are all super pumped about monthly meeting opportunities to learn more about each other and our House.
Progress Reports in Parent Portal
Please check Parent Portal on 9/20 for your Blue Jay's Progress Report. These are posted midway through each quarter. Mrs. Brueggemann will be sending out the reminder email as well. If you have questions about your child's progress please do not hesitate to reach out to their teacher(s).
FastBridge Assessment Results, Family Reports, and Interventions
Fall FastBridge assessments have started and we will finish up makeups next week. If your child starts receiving a Tier 2 (in the classroom) or Tier 3 (pulled out by a Reading or Math interventionist) Intervention, a letter will be sent home so you are aware. All students will bring home FastBridge Family Reports on 9/30.
Behavior Bootcamp
Our behavior bootcamp was a great success! I have attached our building wide expectations matrix below. Please review these with your child.
Student Leadership
Our attendance, assembly, paparazzi, morning announcers, birthday buddies, and marquee leaders have started their leadership jobs. We are super proud of their Blue Jay Pride!
United Way
We will be collecting spare change during the month of September. Bring in those silver coins and help your child's class fill their bottle! Winning class gets a surprise and bragging rights!
Parent Portal Enrollment/Registration
We are down to 3 students who need their Parent Portal enrollment forms complete. That is awesome! This is an annual expectation, and we really appreciate the support getting our registration complete!
Thank you for sending your Blue Jays to us every day. We get the priviliedge of watching them grow and learn and it is such an honor! Our school is incredible because of the people in it, BUT also because of the people outside (families and community members). I am proud to serve as this great school's lead learner and will work hard every day to ensure your families and our staff feel valued, welcome, cared about and heard. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Counselor's Corner
Dear Families,
We’re excited to share that our school is participating in Cash for Classrooms, part of Casey’s Rewards.
The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you buy from Casey’s and use their rewards program you can simply turn your points into a donation to our school. Find Marthasville Elementary in the rewards section of the Casey's app to start donating today!
Any donation that a school receives from the program can be used to purchase supplies for extra-curricular activities including sports, technology, art and/or school supplies within your school. Join us in giving back to your community! Funds will be disbursed to schools twice a year via check to the school's address and will be sent in December and April. No minimum amount required.
Thank you for your family support!
