CMS holds Heart Day activities
Fourth grade students at Chardon Middle School recently celebrated Heart Day as they completed their unit on what it means to have a great heart, literally and figuratively.
Students participated in a number of heart-related activities including yoga, cardiovascular exercise, as well as the making of a heart-shaped bird feeder.
Additionally, students heard presentations from several parents and community members who spoke about their careers related to heart health including nurses, pharmacists and emergency medical technicians.
Leading up to Heart Day, students collected change for a fundraiser to benefit the Children's Heart Foundation, ultimately raising over $1,600. Thank you to volunteers from the CMS Parent Teacher Organization, who helped count all that change and assisted with the Heart Day activities!
Elementary students Sing for Santa at the Cleveland Monsters
Elementary students in Chardon Schools recently had the opportunity to participate in the Sing for Santa event with the Cleveland Monsters.
Along with Music Teacher Samantha Puterbaugh, students ventured to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Dec. 7 to entertain fans in attendance with their singing of several classic holiday songs.
Our Hilltoppers were among the many local students who sang songs while featured on the jumbotron as Santa Claus rode on a Zamboni between the first and second intermission.
Our students had a great time participating in this exciting event!
CELC students visit Severance Hall
