What Has Been Happening in Mrs. Gehris's Classes?
First Quarter Honor Roll
Congratulations to our Honor Roll Students! We held our first Honor Roll Assembly on Friday to celebrate this wonderful achievement. Students that earned all As (90 or higher) in all classes were awarded Distinguished Honors. Students that earned As and Bs (80 or higher, and 1 C was allowed) in all classes were awarded Honors. We are incredibly proud of how many of our middle school students started the year so well. 184 of our 424 students earned honor roll! At our assembly, we discussed that moving forward we will be able to celebrate growth as well. Keep working hard! Scott students "Enter to learn and leave to achieve!"

First Quarter PBIS Reward
Congratulations to all of our students that had no office referrals during the first marking period! We had 292 of our 424 students able to participate in a recess reward on Friday afternoon. That is 68% of our student body. Students had the opportunity to choose to go outside for games, to the gym for games, to the library for board games and just hanging with friends or the cafeteria for a few games of Bingo. Students that were unable to participate stayed in their WIN classes and used the time to work on IXL recommendations or finish some needed work. We are proud of the effort our students are showing to start the school year. Hoping for many more participants at the end of next marking period!

November PBIS Focus...Bus Behavior
We have noticed that our students are needing many extra reminders to make safe choices on our busses to and from school. At our team meetings last week, we discussed the expectations for behavior on the bus: Staying seated, using quiet voices and respectful language, keeping hands and other body parts inside the bus, and never throwing anything out of windows. We spoke about how important it is for our bus drivers to be able to focus on the roads in order to keep them safe and they cannot do that if they are worried about the poor choices happening behind them.
Our bus drivers now have ROCKStar tickets and will be giving them to students that make good choices on the bus. We are hoping that by focusing on the positive we will be able to change the energy that has been happening on some of our busses.
Please take a moment to review bus expectations with your student. We appreciate your support!
Change in Student Home Access Center Login Method
The Coatesville Area School District IT department is working on improving digital security for students and one of our improvements includes changing the student login method for Home Access Center (HAC).
Effective 11/18/24 students in grades 6-12 will sign in to HAC using their district email address and password with Microsoft 365 single sign-on (SSO).
What will change?
Students will have a different URL to sign in to HAC and use their district provided email address and password to log in.
The existing Home Access Center button on our district website will redirect visitors to select either Parent or Student for Home Access Center
Students will no longer need to contact their guidance counselors for a password reset to access HAC.
Elementary School student HAC access will be turned off for security reasons.
Parents/Guardians who used their student's HAC account to view information will need to self-register for an account (see below).
What will stay the same?
Parent/Guardian HAC accounts for grades K-12 will not be impacted. Our self-registration process will remain available as well password resets as they have in the past.
If you need to register for an account, please see the attached instructions.

If you have any difficulty registering for a Home Access Center account, please contact your child's school for assistance to verify your email address on file is correct.
