Dear John Reed Families,

I continue to be deeply saddened by the tragic events in Texas. I want to ensure our families that our staff are committed to keeping students safe. We have just updated our School Safety Plan with our ELAC and School Site council committees. We practice drills regularly and address unsafe situations on campus.

At John Reed, we want a safe experience for all our students. I'd like to address the use of racial slurs on campus. Racist comments and language will not be tolerated. Please speak with your children about the use of racial slurs and how they are unkind, hurtful, damaging and scarring for another child.

We have been getting many phone calls about after school care for next year. The YMCA will not have any information about next year's enrollment until July 15.
