A Note From Principal Chantal Ligtenberg

Valentines’ Day:

Before we know it, we will be celebrating another holiday! Although Valentine’s Day falls on a no school day for students, there will still be classroom activities that your teacher will be in touch with you on. We have a great number of special deliveries sent to the school. Due to the large number of deliveries, these special items are held until the end of the school day to minimize the disruption within the classroom. Please keep this in consideration as the amount of deliveries can be a challenge to our office personnel.

25-26 Classroom Roster Development Form for Parents:

The image-link below is to a form for parents to share their input on their child’s classroom placement for the 25-26 school year. We seek the input you have, but please know you are unable to request certain teachers. Please ensure you give us your feedback. This form needs to be completed annually. Once rosters are developed and teachers are assigned, no requests to have a child move to another class will be approved. All input is due by March 14, 2025.

Noetic Math Learning Contest

This is a national contest in which most students in the contest come from more heavily populated states such as Florida, California, Ohio, Georgia, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, Kansas, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Award levels are:

National Honor Roll—top 10%

National Honorable Mention—top 50%

Participation (less than top 50%)

Team Achievement—means the team score fell in the top 10% of all teams participating

6,981 students participated.

At STEL eleven 4th graders participated.

National Honor Roll (top10%): Blaisley Haugen, Bridger Wingen, Espyn Droppers, Kyle White, and Leo Pyle

National Honorable Mention (top 50%) earners: Brantley Richter, Everytte Lentz, James Hollearn, Kirra Barbee, Knox Clement, and Sawyer Sigman

The district team (which STEL is a part of) earned a Team Achievement Award!

5,282 students participated.

At STEL five 3rd graders participated.

National Honor Roll (top10%) earner AND Team Winner (tied with one other 3rd grader from Piedmont Valley Elem): Harry Bruch and Patrick Fitzsimmons

National Honor Roll (top10%): Ben Meunier and Alistair Hines

National Honorable Mention (top 50%) earners: Cooper Wilson
