Principal's Message
Happy Friday!
What a great couple of weeks for the Henking/Hoffman community! Since my last Hum, we had three amazing events. I want to thank all of the families that joined us for Family Literacy Night, the PTA's Spring Gala, and this week's STEM Night. Each event was very special and I enjoyed getting to better know members of our community!
On top of that, I'm excited to share that Amy Frederick will be Hoffman's new Assistant Principal for Student Services next year. Over the past month or so, we have been searching for Mr. Polonsky's replacement who will be following his passion for teaching and returning to a classroom. Mrs. Frederick is currently the Student Success Coordinator at Attea Middle School. During her time in that role over the past five years, Mrs. Frederick has supported students, staff, and families in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all through developing and monitoring school-wide programs and systems, with a particular emphasis on Social Emotional Learning and MTSS. Prior to D34 she was a Spanish teacher at Wilmette Junior High. Mrs. Frederick holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and was a double major in K-12 Education and Spanish from the University of Dayton. I am excited to have Mrs. Frederick join me in leading the building next year and I think she will be a great addition to our Hoffman community!
On a different note, I need your help with something. The 5Essentials survey is open and we’d love to hear from you! This survey helps us gain a better understanding of how our families feel about the climate and culture at our school. We’d like to hear your feedback so we can continue to make our school the best it can be! We need to have at least 20% of families responding to the survey. Right now, we are only at 11%. It would mean a lot to our school if you could share you perspective about Hoffman through this survey. It closes on March 28th. Thank you for your help with this!
