Hello Woodsy Owls,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the start of a new year! I wanted to take a moment to share some important updates and reminders with our wonderful community.
First, I’m excited to announce that our amazing Parent Teacher Club (PTC) will be starting their annual Penny Drive tomorrow! This fun and meaningful event is a great way for our students to give back while learning the value of helping others. We encourage all families to participate and show their support.
As we continue to work towards fostering a strong academic environment, I’d like to remind everyone of the importance of reading every day. Research shows that students who read regularly improve their literacy skills and develop a lifelong love of learning. Please encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes each day. It can make a world of difference in their education!
I would also like to express my gratitude to our families for being so kind and cooperative during the drop-off and pick-up times. The safety of our students is our top priority, and your attention to traffic flow and parking rules ensures that everyone can get to and from school safely. Your patience and understanding during these busy times are much appreciated!
Parents, it’s time to sign your children up for our exciting extra-curricular clubs! For 2nd and 3rd graders, we offer a variety of enriching activities:
- Choir: For 2nd and 3rd graders every Thursday before school from 7:15 to 8:00 a.m. on the stage—perfect for early risers who love to sing!
- Tap Dance: For 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders starting January 28th, every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:15 p.m. in Room #9 at Placer Hills School. (Limited spots available—sign up quickly!)
- Homework Clubs: For 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders we have two locations! One at Placer Hills Elementary on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-4:00 p.m., and another at Sierra Hills Elementary on Thursdays from 2:15-3:15 p.m.
Don’t miss out on these great opportunities for your kids to learn, grow, and have fun! Sign up today!
Finally, I want to remind everyone about the importance of checking in at the front office before coming onto campus. For the safety and security of our students and staff, all visitors must sign in at the office and wear a visitor’s badge while on school grounds. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school safe and welcoming.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. Together, we can make this year a great one for all of our students. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school office.
It truly takes a village.
