My name is Kelsey Anderson and this will be my fourth year as the principal at Westside. I am so excited to get another year started! It is going to be a great year and I can't wait to watch our students learn and grow. Our teachers love having volunteers in the classroom so please watch for information from your child's teacher on how you can volunteer. Our PTO is always looking for volunteers as well. Thank you for all you do to support your child as they learn. We couldn't do it without you!

Our first bell rings at 8:15 am and our dismissal bell rings at 2:25 pm. On Fridays, our first bell rings at 8:15 am and our dismissal bell rings at 1:25 pm. Our open house style Back to School Night will be Monday, August 26 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. To help minimize traffic, we ask that you arrive at the following time if you are available:

Last name starts with A to D - arrive at 5:30 pm

Last name starts with E to L - arrive at 6:00 pm

Last name starts with M to R - arrive at 6:30 pm

Last name starts with S to Z - arrive at 7:00 pm

If the assigned time does not work for your family, please come any time between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Back to School Night is when you and your student can bring supplies, meet the teacher, talk to our PTO representatives, and find out where to line up on the first day of school.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 27. The first bell rings at 8:15 am. Students will line up outside the building at a door close to their classroom. Teachers and staff will be outside to help students find their correct line.

The dismissal bell will ring at 2:25 pm. Teachers and staff will be outside to help students find the correct bus, car, and/or parent for pick-up. Parents can park in the parking lot and walk up to the front of the school to meet their student or go through the parent pick-up lane.

Every Friday, beginning August 30, will be early release. This gives our teachers time to collaborate and plan for students. The first bell will ring at 8:15 am and the dismissal bell will ring at 1:25 pm.

Red - no drop off or pick-up (other than those using the handicap parking spot located in the staff parking lot)

Blue - drop off and pick-up zone

Yellow - crosswalks

Green - park and walk your student to their door

Students who ride the bus will picked up and dropped off at common bus stops throughout our school boundaries. Bus stops and times can be found here by clicking "Find Your Bus": https://www.ifschools.org/domain/47

If you live in the country, you need to call transportation at (208) 525-7580 to give them your address. They will tell you where your child will be picked up. Please do this ASAP!

We highly recommend that parents of students without siblings meet their child at the bus stop after school. Students who live in neighborhoods are dropped off at common bus stops, not at their front door. Please teach your child where to get on and off the bus and how to get home independently or meet them at the bus stop each afternoon.

We need everyone to fill out the free and reduced lunch application! The results of this form help determine the amount of funding we receive for programs such as Title 1 and All Day Kindergarten. It is extremely important for students to be at school every single day. We understand that students can't control when they are sick and there will be some absences. Students are allowed 5 absences per trimester, excluding medically excused absences. If your child is absent, please call the office at (208) 525-7666 to report their absence. We miss your student when they are gone because all of our students are an important part of our Westside community!
