WMS Student Sophia Ball Named Winner of 2025 Essay Contest
We are proud to announce that Sophia Ball, a 7th grader at Westfield Middle School, has been selected as the winner of the 2025 Westfield Living Magazine & Westfield Education Foundation Essay Contest!
Sophia’s essay stood out among many impressive submissions,. Her writing not only demonstrated excellent skill but also reflected the values and pride we hold as a community.
Special thanks to her teachers, Linda Ogle and Jen Williams, for nominating her and helping support her writing journey. As part of her award, Sophia received a $250 prize—along with a $250 award for her nominating teachers.
We are also incredibly grateful to Westfield Living for sponsoring this meaningful opportunity to showcase student voices.

🎉 Meet Our New ACTS Student Leaders! 🎉
We’re excited to welcome Paige Bailey, Zoha Chaudhry, and Henry Everts (not pictured) to the Westfield Education Foundation Board of Directors as part of the ACTS (A Chance To Serve) program!
This community youth leadership program—led by Purdue Extension Hamilton County—empowers high school students through five full days of leadership training, covering communication, servant leadership, philanthropy, and more. After completing the training, students are placed on local boards and committees where they bring fresh ideas and energy.
👏 We’re proud to have Paige, Zoha, and Henry join us and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make!

We are so proud to share that Megan has been awarded the Nancy Herndon Award of Excellence — a well-deserved honor that recognizes her dedication to leadership and service in our community.
Megan has been an outstanding participant in the ACTS (A Chance To Serve) program for the past three years. Through this youth leadership initiative, she completed five intensive training sessions and went on to serve on the Westfield Education Foundation board, where she’s made a meaningful impact.
Megan will be continuing her journey of service and care as she heads to Purdue University West Lafayette this fall to major in Nursing.
Way to go, Megan — your leadership, compassion, and commitment inspire us all!
New Scholarship Alert: R.E. Dimond Engineering Futures Scholarship Launches for 2025-2026
We are excited to announce the addition of a brand-new opportunity to our growing list of scholarships—the R.E. Dimond Engineering Futures Scholarship—which will be available for the 2025-2026 school year through the Westfield Education Foundation.
This scholarship was created to support the next generation of mechanical and electrical engineers. Funded by R.E. Dimond and Associates, a leading engineering firm, the scholarship aims to encourage and empower students who are passionate about designing the future through STEM.
We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to aspiring engineers and are grateful to R.E. Dimond for investing in the future of Westfield students.
WEF Teacher Grants Fueled Innovation in 2024–25
As we wrap up the 2024–2025 school year, the Westfield Education Foundation is proud to celebrate the creativity and dedication of our educators who brought learning to life with the help of Teacher Grants awarded last fall.
From STEM activities and classroom libraries to flexible seating and hands-on art experiences, our teachers used these funds to enrich student learning in meaningful and engaging ways. These grants—made possible through generous community support—helped teachers explore new strategies, meet student needs, and spark curiosity across all grade levels.
We are incredibly grateful to our educators for their innovative ideas and to our supporters for making it all possible.

📚 Shamrock Supply Hub: Supporting Our Students & Teachers 💚
The Shamrock Supply Hub provides essential classroom supplies, clothing, and hygiene items to Westfield students and teachers in need—ensuring everyone has the resources to succeed.
Stocked entirely through generous community donations and partnerships with Walmart, Pulte Homes, Office Depot, and BJ’s Wholesale Club, the Hub helps remove barriers to learning and supports our educators.

Calling All Vendors for Rock the Block – A Back-to-School Bash!
We’re gearing up for one of the most exciting events of the year – Rock the Block, Westfield’s annual back-to-school celebration! This fun-filled community event will be held on Friday, August 1 from 5:00–7:30 p.m. at Westfield High School.
We’re now accepting vendor applications for the event! Whether you’re a local business or community organization, this is a great opportunity to connect with Westfield families and showcase your services or products. Booth spaces are just $25 for a 10x10 space.
With games, food, activities, and hundreds of families in attendance, Rock the Block is the perfect way to kick off the school year and get your name in front of the community.
