Greetings, Ride Families!
Welcome back from Spring Break! We hit the ground running this week. Wednesday, the 4th grade choir attended the Feeder Music Festival at College Park High School. It was an inspirational and invigorating day of our feeder schools
coming together to share in music. The students were incredibly well behaved and seemed to really enjoy the experience of being together with their future classmates. We hope to build on this experience and continue the positive energy for years to come.
Wednesday night was also Ride Night at Spring Creek BBQ. It was a huge turnout and great to see everyone. The food and fellowship was as special as always. Thank you for participating in these events. They are created for you to come out and meet the people in your community and the restaurants give a small percentage back to the PTO.
Tonight is our 40th Anniversary Celebration. We are expecting past students from far and wide! If you get a chance, we hope you can stop by and see some of the nostalgia from years past. It is a come and go event from 5:00 - 6:30pm. Our choir will be singing as well as some students presenting some of Sally K. Ride's most notable accomplishments.

Dog Man The Musical
Dog Man The Musical has arrived in Houston. The performance will be at the Hobby Center from March 28 - April 14, 2024.
We are excited to share that we are having a contest for our Sally K Ride readers. One student from each grade, 1st - 4th, will win tickets for their family to attend the opening day performance. Names will be drawn and the winning family will be contacted.
There is also one extra set of tickets to give away to a family who enters through the following google form. This google form is provided through the theater and they will draw the winning family at random and will contact the family. Win Dog Man Tickets Here

CISD PK-6 Cell Phone and Smartwatch Guidelines
- Cell phones and smartwatches may be used respectfully and responsibly before school and after school.
- Cell phones and smartwatches should not be used to capture video, audio, or images at school or on the bus.
- Cell phones and smartwatches should be set on silent mode and kept in backpacks, lockers, or other designated storage areas and should not be visible during school hours including instructional time, reward time, free time, lunch, and in the hallways.
- Use of cell phones and smartwatches may be permitted in extenuating circumstances with permission from a staff member. (ex. to notify parent/ guardian of a late bus)
- The World Health Organization states that adequate sleep is essential for mental health, and excessive screen time before bedtime can negatively impact sleep patterns.
Lunch Sign-Up
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are offering two options for lunch signups. You will have the opportunity to sign up to eat in the cafeteria with your child or outside in our gazebo/picnic table area. You will not be able to change locations after signup is complete. If you sign up to eat outside and it rains, you will be unable to move into the building due to limited seating. You may sign up for another day/time.
Each slot is available for two adults and the child you are eating lunch with..
Please see the schedule below for designated grade level lunch visitor’s days. Make sure that you sign up under the correct time slot for your child’s lunchtime. Each student may have two visitors every 3-4 weeks.This ensures every parent has an opportunity to sign up. Remember to bring a valid id when you visit the building.
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are asking all parents with small children to eat outside in the gazebo area.

Visitation Days:
