Chisholm Update
March 1, 2024

Happy Friday Charger Families!
That's a wrap! as of this morning, all of our scheduled OSTP exams for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades have been completed! We do still have some make up exams to finish, but that is always the case for a school of our size. Just to put the last 2 weeks into perspective, we had 420 students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th take a total 1928 exams.
Thank you for your help getting the students to school on time and ready to take their exams during their scheduled time. It was very evident throughout that the students put all their focus and effort into doing their best, which is all we ever ask from them. We were also very appreciative of the students in Pre K - 2nd for their flexibility during state testing. It was a fast a furious two week time of adjusted schedules, reduced access to media center, and helping us provide the best possible testing environment, and everyone did an amazing job helping it go well!
Be sure to mark your calendar for Charger Palooza, which is scheduled for this coming Thursday evening, May 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30. This event will take place on the Chisholm playground. We will have food trucks on site to purchase something to eat, and live music by Spaghetti Eddy. A shuttle bus will be available between the First Christian Church (Bryant and 33rd) to Chisholm to help with parking. We hope you can bring your family, lawn chairs, and enjoy the evening as we begin to wind down the school year.
The 2024-25 Annual Update for returning students is now open. An email was sent out earlier this week and there is information below for you to fill out on your students for next school year. This step is vital in helping us prepare for the upcoming school year. If you aren't planning on returning for the 2024-25 school year, please contact the school 450-340-2950 and let us know.

These seniors are encouraged to wear their cap and gown, they will get clapped out by our current Chisholm students as we walk the building. After the clapout we will gather in the cafeteria to take pictures and touch base with the graduates.

Both orientations will take place in the cafeteria. This event with for Pre K and Kinder parents for the 2024-25 school and provides insight on Chisholm for new parents. The April Smart Social Tip of the Month is full of information on a social media app we hear a lot about in the news, TikTok. What is it exactly? Why do students want to spend time on the app? What should you know about it as parents or guardians? And what are some of the biggest concerns related to TikTok? That information is available by clicking this link: https://smartsocial.com/post/tiktok-app?org=edmond
Edmond Early Birds Parent Program -Sunbeam Family Services is providing a parent program designed to help parents with children from birth to 5 years of age. They have dates upcoming in April along with information of what will be presented on a flyer below for those that might be interested in attending one of these classes.
Please help us during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal by not turning right on red as you enter the parking lot from the west. This will provide those turning left from the east an opportunity to enter into the parking lot as cars move along.
Dismissal Reminder for Spring Hill/ Old Farm/ Thornbrook walkers should only be used by students that live in those areas. If your student doesn't live in those neighborhoods they need to either use bus or car rider to get home at the end of the day. We don't want to send students into a neighborhood that don't live in that neighborhood.
Calling all Substitutes - If you are interested in becoming a substitute, as a classroom teacher or classroom assistant, or even if you want to inquire more about the possibility of becoming a substitute in the future, please click on this link or you can call the school. The district has recently approved some additional incentives ( Subs now get paid twice a month and if you work 6 out of 10 days in a pay period, they can now earn an addition $100 in the pay period).
