Changes to Reporting College Visits
Parents must enter the student's absence in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal prior to the absence. Please indicate that the absence is for a college visit. The absence will initially be posted as unexcused. Once the counselor receives this College Visits Form completed with proof of attendance, the absence will be changed to excused. Students are eligible to take up to 5 approved college visit days each school year. Proof of attendance is required.
Visitor Reminder
This is a reminder that during school hours all visitors to BHS, (including parents, siblings and meeting guests) must enter through Door 1 (Main Street Entrance), check in at the security vestibule with photo ID, and wear a visitor badge/lanyard while on school premises. Visitors are expected to follow all school rules, sign out, and return their badge/lanyard upon leaving. In order to meet with staff, visitors should schedule appointments in advance, at a mutually agreed upon time.
Screener Opt-Out
Barrington 220 will be utilizing the Character Strong Universal Strengths and Needs Screener as part of our ongoing efforts in increasing a sense of belonging for all students, improving skills that support student well-being, and deepening student engagement in academics, school, and community. The Strengths and Needs Screener is completed by your child’s teacher and will assist our staff in supporting your child in the best way possible. While families cannot opt-out of the Character Strong instruction, you may choose to opt your child out of the screener. If you do not wish for your child’s teacher to complete the Strengths and Needs Screener, please notify Principal McWilliams by email smcwilliams@barrington220.org.

Masks are not allowed, and faces must be recognizable
Face paint is allowed but can not be excessive and render the student unrecognizable

If your student plans to dress up for the school day, please review these policies with them.
Join us for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow 11/1 + 11/2
Are you looking for something fun to do on Hall-o-weekend?
Come join the BHS Theatre Department for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow adapted by John Heimbuch and Jon Ferguson, based on the timeless tale by Washington Irving!
Set in the early 19th century, just after the Revolutionary War, the play unfolds in a small, tight-knit Dutch community, where the old world meets the new. The tensions of class and ambition are palpable, particularly for our protagonist, Ichabod Crane, a schoolteacher caught between the allure of progress and the weight of superstition. Are the stories he has heard about the Headless horseman true? Come find out on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd at 7pm in the Auditorium! The show runs about 90 minutes and is a little spooky we would recommend it for ages 10+. Use this LINK to purchase tickets.
Early Voting Currently Underway!
Early voting for the November 5 election is currently underway in the Barrington area. Click the links below to find early voting information for the county you reside in:
To learn more about Barrington 220's $64M referendum question on the ballot and how a successful referendum would result in significant improvements at BHS, please visit our referendum webpage.
We often have students and families in our school community asking the photographers how they can see the event images they create. Candid photos can be found on the Stuart Rogers website.
National Neurodiversity Acceptance Month
Have you noticed that everyone thinks, learns, and processes information differently? Neurodiversity is based on the idea that everyone has a differently-wired brain and their own unique way of thinking and experiencing the world. This month we celebrate the strengths and talents of all types of learners and recognize their hard work, resilience, and determination. Celebrating neurodiversity is one way of reminding us of the importance of being kind, tolerant, and accepting of everyone and that no matter what our differences and challenges, everyone also has their own strengths and talents.
