MYP Student of the Year
Every year, the Arizona chapter of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program opens up nominations and applications for the Student of the Year award.
This year, the application is open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8 and applications must be received by January 10, 2025. If chosen as the IB MYP Student of the Year, students are recognized for their achievement at an award ceremony and are given a plaque and $100.
The application requires students to submit their most recent grade report and they will need to write responses to two of the three following prompts:
-Approaches to Learning skills are the skills students develop that have relevance across the curriculum and help them “learn how to learn”. Describe the Approaches to Learning skills that have helped you grow academically and personally.
-Learner Profile attributes are valued by the IB as they can help individuals and groups become responsible members of their communities. Explain the Learner Profile attribute you strengthened most as a result this school year?
- In the past few years, there have been more opportunities for direct service learning. Outline a Service as Action project you were involved in and how it affected a community in need.
