STUDENT(S) OF THE MONTH
In FEBRUARY the school focused on KINDNESS and our Student(s) of the Month were chosen for demonstrating this trait during the month!
A WORD FROM PRINCIPAL WILSON
Dear Taylor Families,
March has arrived! With only a few weeks left until spring break, we remain focused on fostering learning and strengthening our school community.
Theme of the Month:
For the month of March, our theme will be Courage. Courage means being brave, even when something feels difficult or a little scary. Teachers will be discussing what courage means and how we can be courageous inside and outside of the school.
Safety Reminder: Parking Lot Procedures
To keep everyone safe during drop-off and pick-up times, please follow these important parking lot procedures:
Use designated drop-off and pick-up zones only.
Pull forward in the car line to keep traffic moving.
Remain in your car during drop-off and pick-up to ensure a smooth flow.
Be patient and drive slowly—our students' safety comes first!
Please use crosswalks and wait for a staff member to assist if needed. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe!

Upcoming Bond Work
We are excited to share that our school will be undergoing important bond-funded improvements over the summer! In preparation for this work, we will be emptying out much of our building beginning Spring Break. As a result, you will see multiple storage units and a dumpster arriving on campus. This work is necessary to create a better learning environment for our students, and we appreciate your understanding during this transition.
CMAS Testing
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have been working hard at preparing to take CMAS just two weeks after we return from spring break. This year, we will begin testing on Monday, April 7th. A more detailed schedule will be sent out to all of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families soon.
We are so grateful for our amazing families and all the support you provide. Whether it’s helping with school events, supporting your child’s learning at home, or simply being part of our school community, we appreciate you! Thank you for being such an important part of our school’s success.
Wishing everyone a wonderful March!

We have received a generous donation to create a Taylor Closet that will provide apparel and hygiene products for our students. Please contact Mrs. Kuhn or Mrs. Steele if your family could benefit from this opportunity.

Just a reminder -
Per district policy, students must remain out of school for 24 hours AFTER experiencing fever, vomit and diarrhea.
COUNSELOR'S CORNER WITH MS. SERENITY
We are so ready for spring, warmer weather and fun outside without being bundled up! As we look forward to spring break and time with family, it’s a great time as adults to remind ourselves of our own favorite childhood memories. As parents, we sometimes get caught up in trying to give our children the world when all they really want is our time. I hope you can find some time over spring break to put down the technology, get outside and spend some quality one-on-one time with your children making priceless memories!
Counseling groups being offered in March include a Changing Families group for students experiencing changes in their family structure due to parental separation, divorce, and/or remarriage. We also have two Calm Ninjas groups up and running for extra practice in emotion regulation. If you feel your child could benefit from either of these groups, please contact our school counselor.
In March, the lessons our students learn with our school counselor will focus on the following skills:
Kindergarteners will learn how listening and helping others shows them that we care and we will begin to notice the clues our bodies send us to help us figure out what emotions we are feeling.
First graders will work on noticing feelings in others and we will all name trusted adults we can get help from when we are feeling big, strong emotions.
Second and third graders are noticing the clues our bodies give us to help us name our feelings and we will practice using the calm down steps (stop, name your feeling, and calm down by using counting, deep breathing or positive self-talk).
Fourth graders are practicing seeing things from someone else’s perspective to help solve conflicts.
Fifth graders will finish up their suicide prevention lessons by identifying trusted adults at home and in the community who they can turn to for help.
If you have any questions about the school counseling program at Taylor Elementary, please contact me.
