Welcome to 3rd Grade!

Hello! My name is Stephanie Amsler, and I am one of the 3rd Grade teachers here at Nance Elementary. This is my 11th year teaching and my 6th year at Nance. I am so excited to teach your children this year as we explore new concepts in math like multiplication and division as well as new concepts in reading and writing.

I recently completed my Master's Degree in the area of Elementary Education in May 2024 in addition to completing a Social Justice certificate through the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I believe these degrees have helped me become the best educator I can be for our students at Nance. I am also a member of the National Council of History Education in Missouri through which I am a participant in a grant titled "Amplifying Civil Rights in Education" (ACRE). My participation in this grant gives me access to numerous resources I can use in the classroom with students to teach them about the historical impact of events on our modern day lives. I look forward to participating in the grant for a second year to gain more knowledge to continue to improve my teaching practices.

I am born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a homeowner and mother to 3 cats, Tuba, Honey and Poppy. My favorite thing to do is read mystery/thriller books as well as historical fiction and of course, a good romance novel every now and then. I am a fan of reality TV shows and any type of TV show like Dateline or something in the suspenseful mystery category. I love to spend time with my 3 nieces Charley, Peyton, and Livvy. They bring me so much joy and I love watching them grow and learn new things.

Class Dojo is where most of my communication will come from for school-wide events as well as what to expect for homework and spelling words. This is also where we can chat one on one for any questions, concerns, or comments you may have throughout the school year.

I hope you can make it to open house on Thursday. It will give us a chance to meet in person before the first day of school!
