PHS Counseling Department
Marking Period Dates
2nd Quarter begins on November 12, 2024 and ends on January 24, 2025.
3rd Quarter begins on January 27, 2025 and ends on April 11, 2025.
4th Quarter begins on April 21, 2025 and ends on June 27, 2025.
Elton Brand
The program runs Monday - Friday when school is in session. The program is from 3:00PM-4:30PM each day. Students are provided academic support, enrichment opportunities and also SAT test prep. SAT test Prep will be offered twice a week (English and Mathematics). If you have more than one child in PHS, please complete a separate form for each child.
Night School
*The spring night school session will start in March 2025 and end in June 2025. More information to follow.

When your scores are ready, they’ll be posted on studentscores.collegeboard.org .
How to Access Your Scores?
If you provided your email address on your answer sheet on test day, you’ll receive an email notifying you of when your scores are available. The email will have a unique access code that will connect you to your scores online. If you haven’t already done so, you’ll be asked to set up a free College Board account before you can view your scores. If you didn’t provide an email address on your answer sheet on test day, you can still access your scores online. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
All student athletes are recommended to take challenging classes that are approved by the NCAA. Visit our PHS Course Catalog or visit the NCAA High School Portal to see approved courses.
Seniors interested in playing a sport at a Division I or II college should register at eligiblitycenter.org to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
If any students are planning to attend a Division III School, they can create a free Profile Page at eligiblitycenter.org to learn more about college sports.
Any student interested in attending a NCAA Division I, II or III school should also make an appointment to see Mr. Fernandez, jfernandez2@peekskillschools.org.

Important College Terms
Safety School:
A school you will certainly get into. Your GPA & SAT/ACT Scores are higher than what the school is looking for.
Target School:
A school you have a good chance of getting into. Your GPA & SAT/ACT Scores are within the range of what the school is looking for.
Reach School:
Your GPA & SAT/ACT Scores are lower compared to the school’s requirements.
Early Decision; Binding Contract:
If a student is accepted, they must attend.
Early Action:
Non-Binding-Students receive a decision letter beginning of January, if not sooner.
Rolling Admissions:
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis-Decision letters are sent out 3-4 weeks after applications are received.
Regular Decision:
Generally, the deadline is around January 1st. Differs depending on the school.
