February 18, 2025
Dear Huskie Community,
I hope you were able to enjoy the long weekend and feel refreshed.
Please note we do not have school next Friday, February 28 due to the annual County Wide Institute Day. All schools in the county have this day off to collaborate with one another and engage in professional learning.
It is hard to believe that we are approaching semester 2 parent-teacher conferences. Scheduling opened today. You will use your Campus Parent username and password to log into PTC Wizard website at:https://app.ptcwizard.com/naperville203/login. Please refer to the PTC Wizard Parent Guide (PTC Wizard Guía para los Padres) for additional instructions. You may also notice that some teacher conferences are 5 minutes and others are 10 minutes this spring. Conference length was selected by each teacher based on volume of conference requests or the time needed for their particular courses.
Enjoy your week. Go Huskies!!
Sincerely,
Jay Wachtel

Students should report by 7:45 a.m. Test length and dismissal times will vary with the last bus departing at approximately 2:00 p.m. More details will be provided in April.
Wednesday, 4/9/25
- Freshmen - non-attendance day
- Sophomores - non-attendance day

- Seniors - non-attendance day
Thursday, 4/10/25
- Freshmen - PreACT 9 Secure
- Sophomores - PreACT Secure
- Juniors - non-attendance day

What are these state tests?
- PreACT 9 Secure / PreACT Secure (American College Testing) - These tests composed of English, Mathematics, Reading and Science that help students measure their current academic development and assess readiness for college and career options.
- ACT (American College Testing) - This test measures the knowledge and skills that research shows are essential for college and career readiness and success composed of English, Mathematics, Reading, Science and writing. Students must take the in-school ACT with Writing to receive a regular high school diploma per Illinois Public Act 100-0222. Although some students may have already taken the national ACT, it is important to remember that the April 9th exam is also an accountability measure for NNHS as a factor on the Illinois School Report Card rating and a public reflection of the school and our student body.
Please review the links below for digital access to test preparation resources for students from ACT & ISBE:
PreACT 9 Secure (grade 9) / PreACT Secure Guide (grade 10) / ACT Guide (grade 11)

SERVICE LEARNING TRIP 2026
Costa Rica Service Learning Trip - June 2026
Hi Huskie Parents!! Do you have a current freshman or sophomore Huskie who wants to travel? Do they love animals? Learning about other cultures? Then you’re in luck! Huskies will be traveling to Costa Rica for a service learning trip from June 3-11, 2026. We will volunteer at a sea turtle conservation project on the Caribbean coast, then explore the landscapes, history, wildlife and culture of Costa Rica. We will end our trip with some beach time on the Pacific coast. This is not a language immersion program, so no Spanish is necessary. Please join us for a parent informational meeting on Wednesday, February 19 at 6:00pm in Room 184. We look forward to meeting you and telling you more about our trip!

KIDS MATTER
Our KidsMatter High School Board has been working on an amazing event that will take place on Sunday, February 23rd at the DuPage Children’s Museum. It is the 3rd annual that our High School Board has created, planned and executed and it just keeps getting better! We would love your help in getting the word out about this event – Empowering Yourself from the Inside Out. It is two hours of casual, fun, inclusive social time. With events from yoga to rock painting, service projects and food, it is a great way to meet people and just have fun! KidsMatter has students from all schools across our district and private schools on our Board. This week and next, these students will be talking with their teachers and club leaders at their schools asking them to help promote this event. We would love your support in sharing this with teachers and club leaders and asking their support in sharing with students and when KidsMatter board students reach out to them.

PARENT NEWS REGARDING STUDENT DRIVERS FROM THE POWER OF CHOICE CAMPAIGN
98% of student drivers at ipsd204 and ncusd203 high schools surveyed in the spring reported that they do not drive under the influence of alcohol or marijuana. The students answered anonymously while taking the Illinois Youth Survey. We have posters up with the results in our building. The posters are made in cooperation with the Power of Choice campaign, a project funded by the state.

DRESS UP 203

This organization is dedicated to making prom dreams come true for NNHS and NCHS students who do not have the means to afford formal attire. They believe every young person deserves the chance to experience this memorable milestone without financial burdens. Please help us thank our Platinum Partner PEACHES BOUTIQUE who is helping make this possible! We hope the entire community will support Peaches when they shop for their next dress.
