From the Principal's Desk
Dear Students and Families,
I hope you have been enjoying your summer break with friends and family. I am excited to welcome you back to school later this month! Mr. Mitchell and his custodial crew have done a wonderful job getting our beautiful building and classrooms ready for your return!
This first newsletter of the 2024-2025 school year contains important back-to-school information to help us have a strong start. Thank you for reading, and please reach out if you have any questions.

Grade 6 & New Student Orientation, 8.23.24
- We will host a 6th grade and new student Orientation on Friday, August 23 from 9:00-10:15 AM. Parents/guardians may choose to drop off their children for this event. Please also feel free to join your 6th grader if you prefer. Students will meet with their team teachers, receive their schedules, tour the building, and practice opening their lockers. We are looking forward to welcoming our newest Chargers to ADL!
Important Dates & Details
- Our first day of school for all students is Monday, August 26th. Our school day begins at 8:35 AM. Our dismissal time is 3:35 PM except on Wednesdays when we have an early release at 2:35 PM.
- Students will report to their advisory teacher's classroom after the bell on our first day of school. We will have students' advisory assignments posted in the gym lobby, and these will also be available to view in PowerSchool on Friday, August 23. Teachers will also be present to help direct students to their assigned locations on the first day.
- We will have supervision for students starting at 8:10 AM in the gym lobby and cafeteria. We encourage students who arrive early to get breakfast at this time. The cafeteria will be open for grab and go breakfast from 8:10-10:30AM every day, and it is free!
- We will continue to provide school supplies such as pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, and binders for all of our Chargers this school year.
Annual School Forms & Updates- Please Read
- Please read this Health Information from our School Nurse Jenna Dalla Mura.
- Please review the EWSD Communications Agreement. If you would like to opt-out and not have your child appear in photos/video, or to appear in photos/video but without being identified, please contact our main office at 878-1388 to request the 'EWSD Photo/Video Opt-Out Form."
- For information about our EWSD policies and procedures, you can read the EWSD Handbook online and/or call the main office to receive a hard copy. For additional information about our school-specific programs and procedures, please see our 24-25 ADL Supplemental Handbook.
- We will send additional communications and other important "back-to school" forms in the first ADL Announcements of the school year on Thursday, August 29th. These announcements are sent by email, so please be sure we have your most updated contact information in PowerSchool. If you need assistance, please contact Victoria Cooper at 857-7842.

Save the Date
- ADL Open House will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 6-7 PM.
- School Picture Day is Friday, September 27th.
