OES Family Update- July 22

Families,

I hope you are continuing to enjoy the summer. We are 3 weeks away from welcoming students and staff back to the building and we want to continue to ensure all of our families have the information needed to start the school year on a positive note.

We will be holding a few events to help make the start of the school year a successful one for you and your family.

If your family is new to the district or new to OES (first time PreK/Kindergarten Parent, transfer, move-in, etc), we are hosting a New Family Orientation on Monday August 5th at 5:30. Parents/guardians and their students are welcome to attend to learn more about OES, logistical information, ask questions, and tour the building.

On Monday August 12 from 5-6 PM all 1st-6th grade students are invited to Meet the Teacher Night at OES. Students can visit their classrooms, drop off supplies, meet their teacher, and tour the building before the 1st Day of School.

PreK, Kindergarten, and Junior Kindergarten students will be invited to an individual conference/meeting with their child's teacher on Wednesday August 14th or Thursday August 15th before their 1st Day on Friday August 16th.

Please follow the following steps to complete the process:

• Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal- https://ps.ocusd.net/public/home.html
• Click on "E-Registration"
• Complete the registration process for each of your children in OCUSD #220.

Complete the process by August 2nd to receive discounted registration fees.

If you are in need of assistance our office is open Monday-Thursday from 8-2 PM or give us a call at 815-732-5300.

Those that have completed the school registration process by Monday July 29th will be able to view their homeroom teacher assignment in PowerSchool at 4 PM that afternoon. We will be unable to place students that have not completed the registration process into a homeroom until that process is fully completed.

Please review the required Immunizations/Physical Exam for specific grade levels. A change this year is that your child WILL NOT be able to attend on the first day of school without the required documentation on file in our nurse's office.

The following items are health requirements which must be met before the 1st day of the 2024-25 school year.

Pre-K:

DPT or TD (3 doses)

Polio (3 doses)

HIB (1 dose)

MMR (1 dose)

Varicella/Chicken Pox (1 dose) or proof of having the disease

Hepatitis B (3 doses)

Pneumococcal Vaccine/PCV (Primary series or 1 dose)

Lead Screening (Date & Results)

**New Physical Exam

Kindergarten:

DPT or TD Booster (After age 4)

Polio Booster (After age 4)

MMR (2 doses after age 1)

Varicella/Chicken Pox (2 doses) or proof of having the disease

**New Physical, Dental and Eye Exam

2nd Grade:

**New Dental Exam

6th Grade:

Tdap Booster vaccination (1 dose)

We will be visiting various parks in the district to create some excitement for the new school year on Thursday August 8th. Please join Mr. Cozzi, Mrs. Webb, and myself at one of the parks listed above for a free popsicle and fellowship to kick off the new school year! We will be traveling from location to location in the white Oregon CUSD #200 Bus and will be greeting students and their families.
