Moran Prairie Vision & Mission
Our work group met multiple times throughout the year, solicited feedback and ideas from staff, students, and community members, and read through sample vision/missions from neighboring schools in our feeder pattern and SPS. We drafted a vision and mission with this information, took it to staff and some parents for additional feedback and revisions. It has been approved by staff through our contractual building decision-making process and has passed with 100% approval! Starting the 24-25 school year, we will have a new Vision and Mission for Moran Prairie.
Vision:
At Moran Prairie we are building a vibrant community of lifelong learners, driven by a love of discovery and a sense of belonging. By nurturing dynamic thinkers and problem solvers, celebrating diversity, and developing strong character traits, all students can become active participants in our ever-changing community.
Mission:
Our mission is to intentionally create a welcoming place where every student feels like they belong. We believe in shared responsibility, where staff, parents/guardians, and students work together to create a thriving community. We celebrate kindness and success while helping each other through challenges. We support each student on their own unique academic path. We want every student to feel confident in their ability to reach their highest potential and achieve their goals. At Moran Prairie, success is for everyone.

Field Day + Family BBQ
Our annual Field Day is Wednesday June 12th! 🙌 Students in grade bands go outside and have 20 different stations to choose from. 3rd - 5th grade will be outside from 9:45 - 10:45, we have our family BBQ (see times below) after, then Kinder - 2nd is from 1:30 - 2:30 pm. We are looking for volunteers to help set up, run stations, and help clean up at the end! If you're available to help, please sign up using this link. You can also reach out to Ms. Hellenthal and the main office.
For the family BBQ, please plan to arrive at the schedule time for your student's grade level lunch. Families who ordered lunch will walk through the line in the cafeteria with their student, they'll have a ticket indicating what they ordered. Families who plan to bring their own food, please meet your student outside. Please note that parking will be difficult. Plan ahead in case you need to walk a little to get here in time to spend the whole lunch with your child.
Times for family BBQ lunches:
- 5th = 11:10 - 11:45 am
- 4th = 11:15 - 11:50 am
- 3rd = 11:35 - 12:10 pm
