Easley Weekly Update
Everything You Need to Know for the coming week.
October 29, 2023
a note from the principal
It was great seeing so many families at our Mathquerade on Thursday evening. Thank you to our math curriculum committee and the grade level teams for putting on fun family event!
Morning Drop Off
It's that of year where it's getting darker and colder (except this week) and we all want to stay in bed a little longer. Typical for this season, we are seeing families arrive later and later each morning and our drop off and our car line is now not over until after the tardy bell. It would incredibly helpful if each family could try and leave the house just five minutes earlier. If you don't want to wait in the drop-off line, it is completely empty between 7:20-7:35 AM. Starting on Monday, staff will leave carline at 7:45 AM, as they have duties to attend to in the building. Students arriving after 7:45 AM will be marked tardy and need to be walked into the school. Thank you for your cooperation in getting our Eagles to school on time.
Student Snacks
Please be reminded to send your child to school with a snack each day. We have back-up snacks in the front office for any student who forgets their snack or is unable to bring one from home but the number of students who come up to get a snack each day has been increasing and I am finding myself making more and more Costco runs to fill the snack basket. We are happy to provide a snack for any student who needs on but I am guessing that many parents are not even aware that their child is getting a snack from the office each day so it may be worth a conversation.
Teacher Workday
Tuesday, November 7th is a Teacher Workday and there will be no school for students.
Important Redistricting Information for Current K-2 Students Only
Thank you to those of you who have completed the survey regarding plans for next year. If you have not already done so, please take a couple minutes and complete this survey as it will assist us with further communication and help us know your intent for next year. You can also check out the Growing Together website at this link: https://welcome.dpsnc.net/
