DCA Weekly Update
November 15, 2024
Message from the Principal
Greetings DCA Students & Families,
Report Cards for Marking Period 1 are now posted in Infinite Campus. Please take time to review grades and discuss progress as a family. Check out this linked document for some helpful ways to engage in discussion. Be sure to highlight achievements and plan a path forward for how to maintain and/or improve. Parent/Caretaker support as a Learning Coach is essential in ensuring student success.
The week of November 18-22 is American Education Week. Check below for ways to celebrate!
If you have not done so already, please sign up for a DCA Parent/Caretaker-Teacher Conference.
Conferences will be held on November 25th for DCA Middle School and November 25th and 26th for DCA Middle and High School. Conferences are on a first-come, first served basis. Please sign up today!
We encourage you to sign up and take advantage of this valuable connection with your child's teachers. Together, we can ensure your child's continued success and well-being. We look forward to meeting with you virtually and working collaboratively to support your child's educational journey.
Families, please remember to complete the PA Climate Survey for DCA AND your child's home building. It is due by November 20th.
Finally, registration for DCA courses in grades K-12 is now CLOSED for the remainder of the year. If you wish to take online courses in the 2025-2026 school year, please indicate that during course selection in January.
Enjoy the weekend ahead!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kecia Nesmith
Principal of the Downingtown Cyber Academy and Supervisor of Teaching & Learning
Week Thirteen begins on November 18 and ends on November 25.
Week Fourteen begins on December 2nd.
American Education Week was first established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1921. It has since been celebrated annually to honor the importance of education and those who contribute to the educational process.
