Dear Cypress Families,

With 39 days left in this school year I want to thank you for your continued commitment to your child’s learning. Our teachers work really hard to plan for daily lessons, ensure student safety, and to partner with families in raising future leaders. We do this together and are only successful when continued communication occurs between teacher and parent. Please know that staff emails are live links located on our Cypress website at https://ces.pasco.k12.fl.us/ and the expectation is that you receive a response within 24 to 48 working hours. I also want to encourage you to schedule a regular face-to-face parent/teacher conference with your child’s teacher. This is the best way to know how your child is performing and to support them at home as well. This also builds a relationship with the adult that is responsible for your child for numerous hours each day. We can also offer virtual conferences through Microsoft Teams or a 30-minute Zoom meeting if this could allow more flexibility in meeting times. In a world of technology, I do feel it is super important to be able to “unplug” and enjoy the moment as well. Scheduling a meeting is a way for everyone to work together and have a forward momentum to end our year dedicated to maximizing growth in every student. I want to recognize our Assistant Principal Mrs. Lovelle as it’s Assistant Principal Day during this week! She has made a very smooth transition from being a District Math Coach to our Cypress Community. The boys and girls love her, the staff respects her, and she has worked each and every day to support families. She has a great way with students and has really jumped in to get to know our Cypress culture. To set up State testing systems is no easy task and when given this opportunity, Mrs. Lovelle embraced it, all while following through with setting up structures that have been easy to navigate. Our school grade depends on having a glitch free testing system and I know we are in good hands with our Assistant Principal! I am very happy to be working with her and appreciate all that she does for our students!
