PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
One of my favorite parts of the day is greeting our students each morning as they arrive at school. I love seeing their smiling faces, ready for a day full of learning and growth!
To make the arrival process safe and efficient for everyone, I want to remind families of our procedures for the "Hug and Go" lane. This system ensures a smooth flow of traffic while keeping our students safe. Here are some important reminders:
Please pull all the way forward in the lane.
Drivers should remain in the car; our staff will assist students in getting out safely.
Children should only exit the vehicle on the right side, nearest to the sidewalk—not into traffic.
Once your child is safely out, please carefully pull forward and be on your way.
If you prefer to park and walk your child in, there are a few parking spaces in our lot, though many families find it easier to park along Clover Basin or in the neighborhood.
A quick reminder: The "Hug and Go" lane is for drop-off only, not for parking. And please, do not let children out in the left lane—only the right side is safe for drop-off.
We appreciate your help in making our "Hug and Go" lane run smoothly and safely every day!
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
It's time for our Fall Family/Teacher Conferences, which will be held on October 1st, 7th, and 9th for all students from kindergarten through fifth grade. These conferences are a great opportunity to review assessment data, discuss student progress, and collaborate with teachers to support your child's success. Our teachers are eager to connect, share updates, and provide a glimpse into the rest of the school year!
This afternoon, you’ll receive an email through our “Meet the Teacher” system (email: noreply@meettheteacher.com), allowing you to easily select a time that works best for your schedule. Be sure to check your inbox (or SPAM folder, just in case) for this email. We'll send reminders daily until everyone is signed up. If you need help, our office staff is available to assist you in reserving a time. Spanish interpretation will be available on October 1st and 9th, and if your family requires interpretation in another language, please contact the front office for support.
We look forward to seeing you at the conferences and working together to support your child’s growth and success this school year!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
Eagle Crest Elementary

EAGLE CREST SPIRIT DAY & SILVER CREEK HOMECOMING PARADE
Don't forget, tomorrow is our Eagle Crest Spirit Day and the Silver Creek Homecoming Parade! We're excited to see everyone decked out in their Eagle Crest t-shirts as we come together to celebrate our school and feeder spirit. This is a cherished tradition at Eagle Crest, and it holds a special place in our hearts. It's just one of the many ways we foster connections with our feeder schools and build a strong educational pathway within our community.
The Homecoming Parade is scheduled to kick off at 2:45 pm. During this time, please be aware that traffic on Clover Basin will be affected and our parking lot will be closed as the parade winds its way through our Hug & Go Lane. If you typically arrive early for dismissal, please be prepared for potential adjustments to your routines. We greatly appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we come together to make this event special for our students and community!

GIFTED & TALENTED REFERRALS
Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress. In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.
Referrals are open now and will close on September 30th. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the entire school year.
The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. You can access the online referral process here.
Please contact Lindsey Cheney for more information.
