Stay Motivated: The Power of Consistent Attendance
Research shows that regular attendance helps children stay engaged, build a routine, and develop a strong work ethic. Students who miss just 10% of school (about 18 days per year) are at risk of falling behind academically. Students with chronic absenteeism are at a higher risk of dropping out. In fact, students who are consistently absent in elementary school are four times more likely to be chronically absent in middle school, which significantly impacts their long-term academic success. When children miss school, they fall behind on lessons, activities, and social interactions. Over time, these gaps can lead to bigger challenges in keeping up with their peers, affecting both their academic performance and confidence.
Help your student to stay motivated by setting positive goals, creating a routine, and offering support when they face challenges. Explore more ways to motivate your child to attend school regularly.
