Glow Gallery in Mrs. Welsh's Art Room
Second grade students at WCB have been learning about immersive art and have been working on glow in the dark paintings exhibited in their Under The Sea Glow Gallery. All second graders have created a painting to go with the “Under the Sea” theme. The art room closet has been transformed by the students into a captivating bright, glowing immersive exhibit of dolphins, whales, mermaids, sea stars, seahorses and more. Students have taken the initiative to design and paint additional art for the exhibit including art that hangs from the ceiling which mimics octopus tentacles and glow art on the floor of the space using glow in the dark tape. The immersive art experience is available for all students at WCB to visit. Kindergarten and first graders have also had the opportunity to create a glow painting and view it in the glow gallery before taking it home with a black light pen. All students will be receiving a black light pen to take home.

Leader in Me Tip from the Student Council
Students have learned to Put First Things First at WCB.
- I do things that I have to do before I do the things that I want to do.
- I stay focused on what I'm doing. I try to minimize distractions and regroup if I get off task.
- I spend my time on the things that are the most important.
