DIBELS Help at East
The 2nd and 3rd grade reading specialists need assistance for the middle of the year DIBELS testing. Volunteers will be responsible for escorting small groups of students between their classrooms and the testing rooms. Additionally, volunteers will help manage students in the hallway while they wait to be tested. The reading specialists will provide books for students to read during this waiting period. Thank you for your help!

THANK YOU!
Dear PTG Officers and Volunteers,
We sincerely thank you for your invaluable contributions to our recent holiday events! Your dedication and support made a significant difference in creating a festive and memorable experience for our students.
We are especially grateful for your assistance with the Santa Shop. You helped create a magical and organized environment for our students as they shopped for gifts for their loved ones.
We also appreciate the effort you put into attaching candy canes to each candy gram. This thoughtful touch added a delightful sweetness to every message and brought smiles to many faces.
The beautiful East School Christmas ornament is a wonderful keepsake that will be cherished for years to come. Additionally, Olaf's visit to East School was a huge success! The students enjoyed Olaf's popsicles and had a great time catching snowballs.
We truly appreciate your willingness to help, your attention to detail, and your festive spirit. Thank you for making the holidays brighter for our entire school community!

Mobile Denist-COMING SOON!
We understand how important oral health is to our children’s overall well-being. That’s why we have invited the Smile Program to provide on-site preventive dental care services at our school.
The Smile Program’s team will set up a mini dental office in our school, offering preventive services to all children who submit completed forms. The Mobile Dentists will conduct dental exams, x-rays, cleanings, and, when appropriate, sealants. If additional care is needed, referrals will be made to a local dentist.
These services are available to all students, whether they have dental insurance, wish to pay for services, or require assistance for dental care. If you are interested, please complete the application form and return it to the school. Please note that grant applications for those in need take time to process. You can learn more about the Smile Program and the Mobile Dentists by visiting www.MySchoolDentist.com and watching a short video.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Patterson at 330-364-7114.
*Look for more information coming home soon!
2024-2025 EAST SCHOOL SPIRIT DAYS
January 10, February 7, March 28, April 4, May 2, & May 22
Students are encouraged to wear their Dover East Elementary School shirt to school.
Lost & Found
If your child has lost their hat, lunchbox, coat, or water bottle, there is a good chance it may be in the school's Lost and Found. All found items are collected and placed in the Lost and Found bin located in the lobby area. To ensure the speedy return of your child's belongings, please label them. However, if your child has lost something this school year, it's important to check the bin as soon as possible.
Playground
East School’s playground will be CLOSED after school every day until 4:15 due to school buses picking up our students in the back of the building. Thank you for your cooperation!
Birthday Treats
Bringing treats for classmates on your birthday is a common practice in many schools. This practice is voluntary, and participation is optional. Normally treats are brought on the child’s birthday or the day that school is in session close to the child’s birthday. Parents are asked to notify the teacher at least one day prior to bringing treats.
Guidelines for Treats:
- Treats must be store-bought and individually wrapped.
- Students should bring enough treats so that each student in the class and the teacher receives a treat.
- Treats will be distributed as directed by the classroom teacher.
Change of Transportation
If there are any changes in your child's end-of-the-school day transportation procedures, please be sure to send a note to your child's teacher. If the teacher does not receive a note from you, your child will be sent home using their normal routine. Please do not send transportation changes through email or ClassDojo, as it may not be received in a timely manner. You are encouraged to call the school office with any last-minute changes by 2:30 pm.

East PTG
Be a part of the group!
One of the biggest assets of our school is the PTG. Services such as volunteering time, helping with programs, and providing financial assistance for equipment and activities are vital functions of the PTG and are greatly appreciated by our school community.
The PTG spends money on student incentives and building items for the betterment of the school. We encourage parent involvement with our school and PTG.
