Baldwin High School and Middle School Students Explore Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory's DNA Learning Center

Baldwin High School students from the Medical and Health Sciences Academy as well as Baldwin Middle school students from Mr. Francesco Iannucci’s Medical Detectives Pre-Academy embarked on a “Leaving2Learn” at the DNA Learning Center in Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. There, students conducted laboratory procedures to analyze DNA samples, employing restriction analysis techniques through gel electrophoresis. Learn more >>

AP Environmental Students Conduct Research at Hempstead Lake State Park

The AP Environmental class at Baldwin High School recently engaged in the annual "Leaving2Learn" event at Hempstead Lake State Park, collaborating with the Seatuck Environmental Association and Adelphi University. They used seine nets and lab tools to study aquatic life, biodiversity, water chemistry, and environmental conditions of the Mill River, contributing valuable data for Seatuck's community environmental statistics website.
