Art for the Sky is THIS WEEK - Please Donate Your Denim and Wear Your Assigned Color Shirt on Thursday!
The Art for the Sky assemblies are this week. Students have been learning about the program and we are all anxious to see what we will create at the big Sky Art Day on Thursday, October 24th.
We are still collecting jeans/denim for the program- we need about 100 more pairs of jeans and 12 white bed sheets!! Please send them in with your child if you have any to donate.
During the event, we must have 40% of our school dress in WHITE shirts and 60% of our school dressed in RED shirts. For planning purposes, please see below to know what color your student(s) will have to wear on Thursday, 10/24.
Grades 3 & 4 will be wearing WHITE shirts
Grades K, 1, 2, 5 and STARS will be wearing RED shirts
Please plan to send your child to school wearing the appropriate color shirt.
Art and Physical Education Collaboration
Mrs. Antunes and Mr. Parlanti collaborated this week to support students in making lifesize figures in motion inspired by artist, Keith Haring. Students changed the position and orientation of their bodies and captured the various poses on paper. We love seeing this connection to create engagement and reinforce learning!
Rowayton Third Graders to Perform at Hispanic Heritage Celebration at BMHS on Thursday!
NPS will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We look forward to another great event and can’t wait to see what our students have to present! Rowayton Third Graders will be welcoming guests with a performance of a popular song. Some of our Grade 3 Students will be reading biographies about famous Hispanic Figures on the stage. We will also have a table displaying projects completed throughout the month. Parents of students performing, please see your emails for information.

Save the Date for the PTA Fall Fundraiser
Save the date for the parents only PTA Fall Fundraiser on Friday, November 8th! Tickets are available for purchase on the PTA website. See flyer below and let us know if you have any items to help make this year’s fall fundraiser successful!
Join Us for the Pumpkin Parade on October 31
Pumpkin Parade: The parade will begin at 2:15 on Tuesday, October 31 and will proceed around the blacktop and driveway circle. There will be designated areas for viewing.
Costumes and Attire: Students may dress in orange and black, costumes, or any fall inspired attire. Costumes are not required for the parade.
Costume Guidelines: Please avoid scary masks or costumes that may frighten young children. We want this day to be enjoyable for all of our students. Please do not send children to school with any accessories that resemble a weapon.
Costumes worn to school should allow students to participate in the regular school day (including recess, lunch, and using the bathroom). Any accessories or costume masks should be kept in backpacks or bags until it is time for the parade. Please no full face make up during the school day.
Students may also wear clothing that will fit under their costume and bring the costume to school. We are asking that students be prepared to independently put on their costumes over their clothing. Costumes should be labeled and packed in backpacks or bags.
The PTA will not be hosting a Costume Shop this year. Families in need of costumes can contact our school Social Worker, Stephanie Edwards.
*Kindergarten parents will receive a separate communication from your child’s teacher regarding costume guidelines for that day
Walkathon Celebration on November 1
In celebration of fundraising for the 2024 Walkathon, the PTA Walkathon Committee will be hosting an inflatable obstacle course for all students on November 1. Kindergarten students were the top earners so they will get to close out the day with additional time on the course. A sign up for volunteers is coming if you'd like to help on this day. All students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
October's Color of the Month is Pink
The Color of the Month for October is Pink! Pink can represent kindness, love, or shyness. Throughout the month, students will learn about these emotions and participate in activities that support wellness. Students will incorporate pink themes into body, heart, and mind activities. We ask families to join us by considering activities, crafts, or healthy snacks at home that can be used to promote wellness as we celebrate October! Check out a list of pink foods that you can try during this month. Thanks to the Staff and PTA Wellness Committees for facilitating this initiative!
