A Note from Your Principals
February Attendance Data
With the close of January, came a review of the month's attendance data. As of January 31st, 9% of our population (45 students) are considered "chronically absent". While this is above our school goal of 5% (or less), we are happy to see a slight decrease from December.
"Chronically absent" means that students have missed 10% or more of school days offered. As of Wednesday, we've been in school 96 days. That means students who have missed 10 or more days of school are on the list.
Grade 4 has the most students (11) considered chronically absent. Grade 3 has continued every month this year, to have the fewest (4)!
In an attendance celebration, we are happy to report that our average percent of students present each day has again reached our goal of 95% or more!
We want to thank those families who have made intentional efforts to ensure that their child/ren are in school each and every day! We appreciate the scheduling of doctor/dentist appointments for late afternoon, the efforts to make adjustments/schedule changes, and the collaboration with our school nursing staff to determine when a child is truly too ill to come to school.
Each and every minute matters.
Each and every day matters.

January's PAWSitive Office Referrals & Community Shoutouts
We recognized many students, staff, and community members in the month of January with "PAWSitive" Office Referrals and Community Shout outs.
These recipients went above and beyond with regards to their effort, kindness, learning, teamwork, and/or attitude.
In addition to being featured on our monitor displays in the Main Office, Lobby, and Cafeteria, students receiving a PAWSitive Office Referral also had the opportunity to make a positive phone call home with Mrs. Hammer or Mr. Kenyon.
We hope our entire ET community will take a peek at the slides below and help celebrate all these amazing individuals!
February's Scholastic Book Fair
Eli Terry will be welcoming the Scholastic Book Fair during the week of February 26!
There are many volunteer opportunities available throughout the week and we'd love for you to be part of it! Sign-up directly at this registration link.
For additional information about the book fair, stop by the fair website - there's great information about what books will be featured at this fair, as well as how to set-up your student's electronic payment option (the very popular eWallet)!
THANKS to the success of our fairs over the last few years, we ensure that no child leaves the book fair empty-handed. Also returning this year is Family Night on Thursday, February 29 - stay tuned for more information!

Number Lines
- A number line is a mathematical model showing numbers on a straight line. The numbers on a number line are placed sequentially at equal distances along its length. It can be extended infinitely in any direction.
- Working with number lines help children develop greater flexibility in mental arithmetic as they actively construct mathematical meaning, number sense, and understandings of number relationships.
See below for how number lines progress across the grade levels!

Shout outs are a great way to express gratitude towards those who have made a positive impact in our lives. Whether it's a staff member, friend, student, or colleague, taking a moment to acknowledge and appreciate their contributions can strengthen relationships and bring our ET community closer together.
So, if you're feeling thankful for someone in your or your child's life, don't hesitate to give them a shout out! Go ahead, spread some love and appreciation to those who matter most to you.
A Peek Inside Our Week
When books are life, not even lunch can get in the way!🤩
Kindergartners in Mrs. Williamson's room enjoy some "purposeful play". This is a time where free play is utilized to help informally teach academic, peer, and social-emotional skills!
Second graders in Mrs. Glasser's class enjoy an indoor recess. Mrs. Glasser shared that she is SO impressed with how well the students play together and she can't wait for Global Play Day later this month!
4th grade students enjoyed being able to finally get outside this week (due to "warmer" temperatures!) and especially loved being able to play in the snow!
4th grade mathematicians worked to create fraction strips to help model and support their mathematical thinking!
