Training Goals

  1. Understand academic language acquisition and how to support the acquisition process
  2. Become familiar with the 8 components of the SIOP® model
  3. Participate in engagement strategies to increase language usage in the classroom setting

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

• EL Teachers

• General Education Teachers

• Instructional Coaches and/or Other Teacher Leaders

• Interventionists

• Administrators

• AEA Best Practice Coaches

• Strategists

The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol or SIOP® Model is the only empirically validated model of sheltered instruction.

Dates and location:

Participants must attend all 4 days, as each session builds on the next.

  • Monday, March 24
  • Monday, April 28

  • 8:30a-3:00p
