Christmas Pageant 2023 More Than Just Window Dressing
The Christmas Pageant has come and gone for another year and, as usual, it did not disappoint. We seated just over 400 people to watch the pageant. For this, we are so grateful. A few years ago when we decided to change to the pageant style performance, we did so in response to the community asking for it. Year upon year, the community has continued to show their support through attending the pageant.
A great deal of work goes into the pageant, from learning lines and learning songs to set design and wrangling the costumes. The staff of PPCS always steps up and does an amazing job. Mrs. Brezinski and Miss Sundelin led the charge in that they are responsible for the overall production. Each of the classroom teachers; Miss Irving, Mrs. Irving, Mrs. Steiestol. Mrs. Patchin, Ms. Palaniuk, and Mrs. Lechler, along with Mrs. Althouse and Mrs. Siwak work with the students to prepare their songs. Mrs. Binkley and Mrs. Henry worked very hard on props and set design. Mr. Harbor once again supported all the sound and technical needs.
On top of all the staff, Megan Hoffus and the Porcupine Plain School of Dance stepped up, putting together two amazing pieces of choreography for the production. Once again, Mrs. Debbie Gibson accompanied us on piano. Debbie not only comes on the day of the performance, but also several days for practice and preparation. We are so grateful that Debbie is willing to share her talent with us. Lastly, the show would not be the same without our very special guest, Mr. S. Claus. Huge thanks to Santa for making an appearance, he is a perfect way to top off a perfect evening.
As we look at Pageant 2023 in the rearview mirror we are already beginning the writing process for pageant 2024. I don't want to give too much away, but it may involve a drum solo. Stay tuned and we hope to see you all there.
Christmas Hampers
Once again, PPCS will be preparing and distributing Christmas hampers to families who may need a little extra help during the holidays.
Thank you to all of our families who have generously donated food to the hampers.
Thanks to the Weekes Ladies Club for donating a gift card for each hamper.
Thank you to POP who shops for and wraps gifts to include in the hampers.
This will ensure that all of our families have a very Merry Christmas.

Student Work
Buddy Craft
One of my favorite traditions at PPCS is our annual buddy craft. We partner up a high school and elementary grade and they work together to make an ornament for the tree. It is awesome to see how excited the students are to hang their ornament on the tree. I know that our tree at home is adorned with each of the ornaments made by our kids over the years. Each one has a story, a memory, of the high school student they worked with. Our tree at home, like the one at school, is adorned with memories, which is what Christmas should really be about.
Grade 3 Science - Building Structures
The grade 3s were building structures with playing cards and paper. A new record was set, a tower supported 10 rolls of pennies. Congrats to BH and ST for building an amazingly strong tower. The previous record was 9, held by Ty Burghardt from the class of 2023.

Volunteers and Athletes of the Month
Volunteer of the month.
Ms. Wallin is our volleyball go to who looks after a Sr. and Jr. team. She runs a stacked schedule for the teams of league games and tourneys which the girls and school appreciate. She is a positive role model for the players through everything she does whether that be multitasking or modeling sportsmanship. Thank you for all of your time given to Bears Athletics.
Athletes of the Month
Amia Kirkland
Amia’s remarkable work ethic and positive attitude set a great example for other athletes. Her dedication to honing her skills demonstrates a commitment to improvement that is commendable. Her work ethic not only elevates her own play, but also motivates and inspires her teammates to strive for their best. Her consistency on the court and positive attitude make her a crucial part of her teams success. Nice work Amia.
Nevaeh Mansuy
Nevaeh's commitment and relentless work ethic set her apart on and off the court. She approaches every game and practice with a never give up attitude. No ball is too challenging or unplayable. She understands that success is not a destination but a journey and embraces every opportunity to enhance her skills. Her love of the game can easily be seen when she is on the court. Good job Nevaeh!

Check Your Punch Card Balance
Please note, as we get used to this new system, please be aware that punch card balances may be up to 1 week behind.
Once you click the link below and find your child's account number, you will see a number to the left of their account number (i.e. 17). That number will not change, so you only have to remember that number going forward.
We hope that this will help our families.
