Our dedicated staff members are passionate educators who go above and beyond to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. And our supportive community partners provide invaluable resources and volunteer their time to enrich our students' experiences. Together, we create a vibrant and inclusive school where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

We’re all learning to identify our own and others’ feelings. We can focus our attention on someone’s face or body and on the situation for clues about how the person is feeling. Sometimes people’s voices and the words they say also give us clues. If someone is yelling, it might be that this person is angry. If a person is using a very quiet voice, it might be that the person is scared or worried. This week, listen to people’s voices for clues to figure out how they might be feeling!

4th Graders have been using The Beatles and their music to learn the skill of understanding of the author's message in complex texts and multiple genres and analyze the relationships among literary elements and how they contribute to the overall meaning (TEKS ELAR 4.8, 4.8, 4.10). To wrap up their learning SHE parent, J.R. Taylor came and played Beatles music for the students.

We are so excited that our school will be participating in our 4th annual Penguin Patch® Holiday Shop to spread holiday cheer!

The Holiday Shop is a fun way for students to shop for friends & family members and experience the spirit of giving while learning to earn, budget, and save! Your student’s class will have an assigned 30-minute time slot the second week of December to stop in & shop. Be on the lookout for additional details from your student’s teacher.

This book is a children's picture book that celebrates the Jingle Dress Dance. The story follows a young girl as she prepares for a powwow, feeling nervous but ultimately finding strength and joy in the dance. The book emphasizes the dance's significance as a form of healing and prayer, honoring ancestors and those unable to dance themselves. The lyrical text and vibrant illustrations capture the beauty and spirit of the Jingle Dress Dance, making it a heartwarming and culturally rich read. This book is available in the SHE library.

Education Connection Literacy Partners is excited to invite the Serene Hills Community to participate in their 2024 Holiday Book Drive in partnership with Barnes & Noble at the Hill Country Galleria. Customers who wish to participate will purchase a book suitable for elementary students at our Bee Cave Galleria Barnes and Noble, pay for it at the register, and tell the cashier that the book is for Literacy Partners. The cashier will place the book in the donation box behind the register. Some of these books will be gifted to our Reading Buddies at SHE during our annual end-of-year celebration; other books will go to Reading Buddies at other elementary schools in our community.
