June has arrived and we are approaching the finish line!

As a school staff we want to say thank you to everyone for working with us this year. Thank you to the entire staff at New Norway School for their exceptional work and expertise in working with our students. Thank you to our Parent Council for working so hard to ensure so many positive experiences and organizing our yummy hot lunches for our New Norway students. Thank you to our community coaches and many parent volunteers that helped with all our teams and outings. To all our Spartan families, your support and care has been felt and very much appreciated. It truly does take a village to raise our students .

As we look ahead to the 2024-2025 we do have a few staff changes ahead, due to staff moving on from our Spartan Family. As we say goodbye to Mrs. Calvin, Ms. Cava, Ms. Hamilton and Mrs. Hagstrom we wish them all the best on their next adventure ahead. Always remember once a Spartan, Always a Spartan!

Battle River School Division (BRSD) Transportation is pleased to announce that bus registration for the 2024/25 school year is open from April 17, 2024, until 4 p.m. on June 27, 2024.

Spartan Sports Day was a fantastic success! Students from K-6 participated in a variety of events, including running long jump, standing long jump, softball throw, frisbee throw, 400-meter run, and 100-meter sprint. Team events like tug of war and relay races added to the excitement. Everyone gave their best and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship. Thanks to our parent council, we all stayed energized with a delicious hot dog lunch.

Humans were made to wander. To adventure, to explore and to discover. Discover new things, discover new places, discover new relationships and most of all, discover themselves. If we don’t wander, we are not complete. We are missing parts of who we can become and be. When we wander, we find joy, happiness, confidence and peace within ourselves knowing that we belong to a greater existence than just our immediate world. We also realize our connectedness to other people, other living things and our beautiful planet. Our entire Junior High just returned from wandering in Drumheller. They hiked, camped, bonded and learned. Each and every student pushed their own limits and grew as individuals. The Spartans would like to thank the Royal Tyrrell Museum for their amazing gallery and their incredible instructors. We would like to thank the parents and community members that came with us, you are the best!
