Principal Update
Guided by Truth
This Sunday, five of our students will receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist. It has been a privilege for the school to work closely with our Parish to ensure each child is spiritually prepared to encounter Christ in the sacred sharing of His Body and Blood.
Our faith journey is not one we walk alone—it grows in relationship with one another. Our children learn this most deeply through the love and witness we offer to God and to each other.
We extend heartfelt thanks to Tanya and Andrew for their dedication and collaboration with Fr Richard and the Parish in preparing the children for this important sacrament. Thank you also to the staff supporting the children at this weekend’s Mass.
Last week, I attended the CEWA Parish Priest, Principal, and Religious Education Coordinators Day. The day offered rich reflection. Its theme—Accompaniment and Engagement—invited us to consider how we walk alongside families as they prepare their children for the Sacraments.
We are reminded of Christ’s call in Matthew 28:19:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
This mission calls each of us to be people of invitation, participation, and love.
Let us continue to recognise and embrace the Moments of Grace in our community:
Invitation and Acceptance: when we welcome one another and commit to working together as Parish, School, and Community.
Christ is Present: in the Truth we read in the gospels, in prayer, in our children and families, in our signs of peace, in our staff and clergy, in our sacred spaces—and most profoundly, in the Eucharist.
We invite you to join us at this weekend’s First Eucharist Mass at 9:30am and continue supporting one another in faith, love, and witness.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Thank you to all the families who took the time to meet with their child’s teacher during last week’s interview afternoon.
These conversations are a vital part of your child’s learning journey. They strengthen the partnership between home and school and ensure we are working together to support your child’s academic progress, social development, and wellbeing.
When parents and teachers connect, children benefit from consistent messages, shared goals, and a deeper sense of support and encouragement—both in the classroom and at home.
If you were unable to attend and would still like to meet with your child’s teacher, we encourage you to contact the school to arrange a time.
A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing P&F!
We are so grateful to our P&F for their generous support in helping us introduce the Nessy online reading program. Thanks to their funding, students from Pre-Primary to Year 3 now have access to this engaging program, where they work daily at their own reading level. We were also able to purchase extra licences so that students in Years 4 to 6 who need a little extra help can keep building their skills too.
Another big shout out to the P&F for making our School Disco such a success! Their coordination and hands-on help on the night made it all happen – rain and all! Thank you to all our parents for your patience during the rainy pickup. It was great to see so many kids enjoying the music and dancing the night away. Special mention to Miss Caboz, who wowed the crowd with her breakdancing worm moves! We can’t wait for more dancing fun next term when the Footsteps dance program begins.
Parking Update
We know that parking during drop-off and pick-up, especially for our Kindy and Pre-Primary families, can be tricky. We’ve been working with the Mayor and the City of Cannington’s traffic team to explore options for improving this. They’ve been very supportive, and we’re hopeful for a positive outcome soon. In the meantime, please be patient, avoid parking on neighbours’ lawns, and always turn left when exiting the school car park.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding!

School Reports
School reports will be released via SEQTA on the last day of Term Friday July 4. These reports reflect your child’s achievement across the year, based on their progress and performance in each learning area. We encourage families to take time to review the report together and celebrate the growth and learning that has taken place.
If you have any questions or need support accessing SEQTA, please contact the school office.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Thank you to all families who attended our Parent Meetings last Wednesday. We truly value the opportunity to connect and share insights about your child’s learning journey. The partnership between home and school plays a vital role in supporting student growth, confidence, and success. Your involvement helps create a strong foundation for your child’s learning and wellbeing.
