Principal's Corner
I honestly can't believe that we just finished up Spring Break and the month of May will be here in a few short weeks! This year is flying by! As such, many of you are starting to think about and make plans for your child's schooling in the 2025-26 school year. Below in this newsletter is a copy of the recently released school calendar so you can start planning. Also, during the first week of May you will receive an email asking you to complete a short questionnaire about your child's placement for the 25-26 school year. Completing this form is very helpful when we are placing your child into next year's classroom so please be sure to watch for that in your inbox.
Thank you to everyone for following our parking lot guidelines! We have noticed a difference and really appreciate all of you making an effort to keep our parking lots safe and moving smoothly! In case you missed it previously, just a reminder that our front parking lot is for BUS TRANSPORTATION ONLY from 8:20 am - 8:50 am and 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. We will return to enforcing all parents using the back parking lot drop off lines when dropping off and picking up your child. This allows for a safe arrival and dismissal for all students. An exception to this will be those parents who are dropping off/picking up our students who attend the Multi-Categorical/ASD/GISD programs at both Cook and Mason schools. We do however ask that these parents park in designated parking spots and not directly behind other parked cars.
Another reminder about the upcoming Sinking Fund Millage Renewal that will take place on May 6, 2025 (absentee ballots are currently available). If you have any questions about this election and how it directly impacts Cook and Mason Elementary Schools please give us a call at the Cook Office at 810-591-7910.
There are a lot of exciting things coming up in the last quarter of our school year. Please be sure to read below, watch for communications from your child's teacher and give us a call if you have any questions.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or just want to share information please give us a call at 810-591-7910 or you can email me personally at tdale@gbcs.org
Sincerely,
Tia Dale
Cook Elementary School Principal

Upcoming Sinking Fund Election Information!
On May 6th, Grand Blanc voters will be asked to vote on the Grand Blanc Community Schools Sinking Fund Renewal. Please see the flyer below for detailed information on the importance of the Sinking Fund and how it helps our schools. At Cook and Mason Elementary Schools we have received new parking lots and updated secured entrances as part of the Sinking Fund Millage. The Sinking Fund has been approved by Grand Blanc voters for almost 50 years and is a very important part of our district's budget. The Sinking Fund is known as the "Warm, Safe & Dry" fund because it is used to keep our students and staff Warm, Safe & Dry. It cannot be used for salaries, benefits or supplies.
