Well, we are about to enter November and the school is still open. Thank you to all the parents and students for helping make this happen. It is key to let the school know if your child is not feeling well, keep them home and if possible, and have them tested for COVID if they are showing any of the COVID symptoms. We continue to get more negative test results than positive test results which is just one indicator that kids are still getting the regular illnesses besides COVID, and we are on top of the COVID situation if they do happen to test positive.

The Board is using a phase system to implement various mitigation strategies based on school data. While we have not had to move a classroom to a virtual setting, we have had to move two classrooms to a masked setting with in-school isolation steps to slow or stop the spread. The school is aware these mitigation strategies are hard on families and students, but the Board's primary goal is to keep learning as a face-to-face option.

In the next few weeks, you are going to hear more about the vaccines being made available to the age group of 5-11. I would encourage you to talk to your child's doctor if this is a good option for your child. I am not hearing anything about making this a required vaccine for school children in the near future. The school is not talking about moving in this direction either. However, we will pass any information we get on the subject to you for your consideration.

Looking for a job where you can pick the days you work? Do you like working with kids? Erin school is looking for substitute teachers.

Have you ever thought about being a substitute teacher? A Three-Year Short-Term Substitute license may be issued to an applicant who holds a degree from an accredited college or university and who has successfully completed an approved substitute training program, but has not completed a state-approved educator preparation program. Once an educator holds a current Three-Year Short-Term Substitute license, they may short-term substitute at any Wisconsin school district that wishes to hire them. Erin School is looking to add to our sub list. We are also looking for substitutes for our paraprofessionals.
