Knox Middle School
October 2024
Knox Newsletter
October was a great month at Knox! Our students are working hard setting goals in all of their classes and tracking their progress toward mastery of the standards. Students are keeping track of their goal setting in their Student-led Conference Portfolios. Student-led conferences will be on December 12th at 8:00 am (check-in and welcome by the Counselors). Parents please mark your calendar for that day. Conferences will be held in all Advisory classrooms.
Attendance:
Great job to all of our students that have been working on clearing their absences during the weekend. As a reminder, End of Year activities are LOP events. Students need to clear their absences and tardies in Saturday School. We have some great incentives coming up for students with no uncleared tardies or absences. Knox currently has an attendance rate of 94%, which we are hoping to improve to 97%.
This year we have a reduction in office staff. Parents must report absences online through our Knox website. If you need to pick up your student from school for an appointment, please call ahead of time.
Report all absences on our website: https://knox.sandiegounified.org/ (parent menu)
8th Grade Promotion:
Save the date- May 27th at 4:30 pm (arrival and doors open) at Lincoln
Criteria coming soon for 8th grade students
Families will get 3 tickets to promotion (not including the 8th grade student)
