Kelly Newsletter
March 2024
PRINCIPAL PRESS
Dear Kelly Families~
Winter returned this week with our first snow day, but it looks like our spring weather will return soon. Please continue to send your child with a coat and winter gear. We just don't know what to expect from day to day and it is better to have them prepared for every type of weather.
Thank you for your participation in parent/teacher conferences in February. We appreciate this time of conversation and partnership with all of you. Trimester 2 report cards will be emailed home on Friday, March 22nd.
March will be filled with continued learning as our students work toward their individual
goals. Our 3rd , 4th and 5th graders will be participating in the North Dakota State
Assessments during March and April. These assessments focus on literacy, mathematics
and science.
March is Reading Month at Kelly School. We have special student events planned during the month. Please watch for more details coming out through SeeSaw and check out the flyer below that highlights some of the special events.
Warm wishes~
LuAnn Schmidt
Associate Principal

If you have not already done so, we would like you to take a few minutes to complete our online Pre-Registration form at https://form.jotform.com/230254481409049 This will allow us to capture information so we can begin your student’s enrollment now and cut down your waiting time at school that day.
Children who will reach the age of five before August 1, 2024 are eligible to enter kindergarten. For links to required forms and additional information that will be needed at registration, please visit https://www.gfschools.org/link-2/kindergarten

LOST AND FOUND
Please label all of your child's outerwear including coats, hats, mittens, scarfs, boots, snowbags, etc. Our lost and found is always overflowing with clothing that is missing its owner. The lost and found table is located in the front entrance of the school. Any unclaimed items are periodically donated to the thrift stores throughout the year.
LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY
If you are taking your child out of school early for any reason (i.e. vacation, activities, appointments) please let the office know ahead of time. Students aren't necessarily in the classroom so it helps us locate your child in a timely manner so the checkout process goes smooth. You will also need to come into the office and sign your child out.

Birthday Snacks: Due to the increase of students who have severe food allergies and the higher levels of severity, we no longer celebrate student birthdays with a “birthday snack” in our schools. Parents are welcome to find other non-food items to send to school if they wish. Please discuss with your child’s classroom teacher for ideas or preferences.
